Don't think Dookie would have anything so plodding and limp as The Forgotten.

Wow, just listened through this and it was absolutely awesome. This would certainly have been one of the best albums that they would have ever made.

i.e. All the songs that got (I have yet to write DOS and TRÉ) 9.0 or better in my reviews. (Baby Eyes 8.5 exception)

(UNO 5, DOS 4, TRÉ 4)

I thought that this would be a nice order musically.

Story wise it is basically this:

Asking girl to stay the night, finding that the girl is too young for him ->self reflection ->meeting Ashley with her Baby Eyes and she turns out to be a troublemaker -> Thinking having to let yourself go -> leads to a stray heart.

Then the ending is thinking about the nuclear family and how he himself is the X-kid and misses the "you" that he hoped he could've become.

(I just made this up as I went on, no story was meant to be here :D)

Then as B-sides 8.5 songs:

Sweet 16

SWTRLF

Amy

Makeout Party

Oh Love

Walk Away

SD&V

Drama Queen

Brutal Love

Well I think I finally came up with a good album for a trilogy mix. The theme can intertwine between a weekend of partying and having fun then waking up to reality and the problems of the world, or you can look at it like the first 8 songs are your youth. 9 and 10 is when you start sobering up, and then the rest is your road toward maturing. Life cycle I suppose. I think it works and it collects all of my favorite trilogy songs.

1.) Oh Love, works great as end to Uno! but even better as an intro to the concept of partying or living it up. Not lyrically or anything but in spirit this song does a great job of kicking things off

2.) Carpe Diem. A more glorified message of yolo. Seize the day seize every moment, we're about to party, and let me tell you, if you've got the opportunity to hang loose and party on, take it, we don't live long. Good build up to the next few songs.

3.) Fuck Time. Now the party's going and it's going strong. We're getting wild at this point. I love this song cause it's wild, it's naughty, and it's funky all at the same time. People give it a lot of shit but I think it's a great track.

4.) Troublemaker. Energy-wise it's not as wild as Fuck time but it still captures that same mood. I'd love to have this song playing in the background while I'm taking shots.

5.) Lady Cobra. Party just keeps going. More adventures. More youth. More wildness. I love the energy of this song and it keeps up with the theme of the first 7 songs of this album

6.) Kill the DJ+Let Yourself Go, party's climax. Lot's of energy, especially out of let yourself go. Kill the DJ just seems like a perfect prequel to it.

7.) Sex, Drugs, and Violence...more here for the mood and sound of it, this'll be the sobering up or passing out of the party, either way it's starting to wind down.

8.) Nightlife...again lyrically this continues the party theme, but to me this sounds like the perfect hangover song. It's supposed to sound sluggish. It's supposed to sound disoriented. I actually think for what it's meant to be it's a perfect song.

9.) Lazy Bones: ever had a hangover's hangover? That feeling of total laziness the day after a hangover? Where you can't seem to motivate yourself but the problems and tasks you have to face start to set in and affect you. That's what Lazy Bones is here.

10.) Stray Heart. Probably not the most natural follow up to Lazy Bones but I'm gonna go ahead and say that the issues faced from here on out aside from achieving maturity is moving on from a lost love. You've sobered up and now you're thinking of that one you've lost and it only gets worse as time goes on.

11.) Stay the Night. I connected with this song almost instantly when I heard the lyrics. That feeling you get when you just want that one that got away to be with you. Even if not romantically. You just want to see them again.

12.) Wild one. Considering taking this out. I guess at this point you follow intense longing with reminiscing about what it was about him/her that made you love him/her in the first place. Either taking this or Amy out, I just really like Amy though.

13.) Amy Break from the action, I just really like Amy a lot, and it makes for a nice transition into

14.) Fell for You+Missing You to the album it's gonna act as one song, the first telling how it felt to fall in love and then how it hurts to have lost it. Might take Missing You out cause it does seem a bit redundant.
15.) Drama Queen. I guess now drama queen would act as a sort of a step forward. You're sadly letting him/her go. She may never be as happy as you know you can make her, but it's just not meant to be. Whether she gets hurt or not it's time to move on.

16.) X-Kid+Rusty James I don't know why but I associate these two songs with how hard it is to let go of who you already are in order to grow up. That's what I think of when listening to them here.

17.) The Forgotten I know this is a completely wrong interpretation of the song, but I see it as a plea to be open to the idea of loving someone again. I mean...letting yourself fall in love again.

In total that's 20 songs. I really do like the whole early party->time to sober up and get serious transition I used. I'm actually really proud of it. I can listen to it all the way through easily. Mostly cause I left out all the songs I don't really care for (there's one or two that I like but didn't include)

Well I could only bear to cut 12 songs out, so I guess I would make an epic triology double album. I'm glad we've got the pick of 3 albums though.

Uno!

Nuclear Family

Stay the Night

Let Yourself Go

Kill the DJ

Fell for you

Troublemaker

Angel Blue

Oh Love

Dos!

See you tonight

Stop when the red lights flash

Lazy Bones

Makeout Party

Ashley

Baby Eyes

Lady Cobra

Wow! that's loud

Tre!

Brutal Love

Missing You

8th Avenue Seranade

X-kid

Little Boy Named Train

Walk Away

Dirty Rotten Bastards

99 Revolutions

I would keep the actual order, as I do think the songs fit together well as a concept the way they are on the albums.

i LOVE how everyone bitched and moaned about not wanting another concept album, but then turn each trilogy playlist into one.

Mine has 28 songs  I'll need to make a slimmed down one with 15 songs or so to make a regular Green Day album. 18 songs at most.

what has this to do with wanting a concept album?!

I would probably make a double album, fifteen songs per side. Like the White Album by the Beatles, but it'd be called the Green Album :D on vinyl of course

Side A:

99 Revolutions
Nuclear Family
F-woo Time
Stay the Night
Let Yourself Go
Loss of Control
Lady Cobra
Troublemaker

Side B:

Angel Blue
Walk Away
Rusty James
Oh Love
Sweet 16
Makeout Party
Stray Heart

Side C:

Ashley
Kill the DJ
8th Avenue Serenade
Brutal Love
Nightlife
Wow! That's Loud
Missing You
Wild One

Side D:

Amy
Drama Queen
Amanda
X-Kid
Lazy Bones
Dirty Rotten Bastards
The Forgotten

Then I would maybe include a bonus EP (Shenanigans II?) with the missing songs:

Side A:

See You Tonight

Carpe Diem

A Little Boy Named Train

Baby Eyes

Side B:

Fell For You

Sex, Drugs and Violence

Stop When the Red Lights Flash

No concept here, just split the songs up so there's some variety :)
