I'm a big fan of 60s and 70s powerpop, and I loved how Green Day went even more in that powerpop direction on the trilogy than they had in the past, at least IMO. These are my favorite moments from the trilogy, some that have that super sweet powerpop vibe, and others that are just straight rock n roll, its basically just all over the place, but all my favorites none the less.

1 Stay The Night

2 Missing You

3 Let Yourself Go

4 Fell For You

5 8th Avenue Serenade

6 X-Kid

7 Sex, Drugs & Violence

8 Little Boy Named Train

9 Amanda

10 Walk Away

11 Baby Eyes

12 Loss Of Control

13 Angel Blue

14 Sweet 16

15 Rusty James

Man it's hard for me to narrow it down. I genuinely like at least 30 of the songs, probably closer to 35 to be fair. I'll do my best...

I'm choosing to have see you tonight lead into let yourself go as I always felt that the next song should start hard and heavy.

1. See you tonight

2. Let Yourself Go

3. Stop When The Red Lights Flash

4. Missing You

5. Lazy Bones

6. Stray Heart

7. Dirty Rotten Bastards

8. The Forgotten

9. Nuclear Family

10. Stay The Night

11. X-Kid

12. 99 Revolutions

13. Carpe Diem

14. Rusty James

15. Brutal Love

Mine would probably be called Nuclear Family or simply Green Day. Easily makes an instant classic Green Day album.

1. See You Tonight

2. Nuclear Family

3. Fuck Time

4. X-Kid

5. Missing You

6. Lazy Bones

7. Wow that's Loud

8. Oh Love

9. 8th Avenue Serenade

10. Stray Heart

11. Stay The Night

12. Dirty Rotten Bastards

13. 99 Revolutions

14. The Forgotten

15. Amy (secret track possibly connected to The Forgotten)

Singles:

Double A-side: Nuclear Family/Stray Heart

Stay the Night b/w Amanda and Fell For You

X-Kid b/w Angel Blue

Dirty Rotten Bastards b/w Loss of Control

non-LP Drama Queen EP to be released a few months or so after the album for like touring promotion or something

1. Sweet 16

2. Drama Queen

3. Walk Away

4. Rusty James

After Green Day takes a break, they could release a comp of the b-sides from 2004-2012 and release a non-Lp Kill The DJ/Let Yourself Go single

Now I know that's a lot of music and rather unrealistic but I think that over time, this could work well in marketing.

Most of the lists here seem to start with a slower song but I really think Green Day records are the best when they get straight into it, hence Loss Of Control

Okay after seeing everyone's post I decided to listen to the order of the songs switching things in and out around until certain parts began to fit.  Please note that everyone on this post had a hand in this list.  You will notice that songs at certain parts are grabbed from your list ideas.  The only song that was difficult to place was little boy named train and the forgotten didn't fit anywhere except the end.  Because I loved this triple album and didn't feel any song should be discarded after it had grown on me for the last few years.  The only thing that could be done was to ensure that the flow of it was more consistent then what we ended up having on the release days.  You will also notice that oh love, amy and brutal love go right after each other.  Those in particular I felt really back each other up with the transition of they move throughout the track list.  So a big shout out to everyone who helped me make this list.

I think See You Tonight, although it makes more sense as the opener more than anything, it seems like a very weak opener. If I were to remove 1 song from the trilogy it would probably be that as it doesn't do anything for me as an opener and it doesn't make any sense to have a 1 minute song in the middle of it. DRB is a fine opener, although I always liked Nuclear Family as the opener to the trilogy.

Whoops the forgotten.  And you know I changed nuclear family back as the opener and moved dirty rotten bastards elsewhere further down.  The only song I would kick off would be nightlife.  Just doesn't fit to me like the rest of the album, even though I don't dislike the song either.
