Yep, i really like their music. I think that they are the first white rappers in the history of music, and that's cool !

I think you're right actually. I find it ironic that one of the earliest rap groups was all-white, when rap is supposedly a black art form.

So far I have their greatest hits and Licensed to Ill and I like them!

I don't allways listen to rap but when I do, I listen to Beastie Boys.
I actually think they're great, I mean they're obviously not bad if I like them and I'm not a big fan rap. You know, alot of rockers/punkrocker says rap isn't real music in my opinion it is, being able to rap is a great talent and there are probably alot of great rappers out there in the shadow of the crappy Rn'b artists that destroyed rap.

Plus, they are the pionners of the White rap music.
And, they make great songs also like No Sleep T'il Brooklyn, Sabotage ...

The Beasties were one of the best of the genre. When I was at school, people would get huge-ass amps and sing Licensed to Ill outside my window. The music never really gets tiresome.

New York community board blocks naming of Beastie Boys Square

A proposed naming of an intersection in the Lower East Side of Manhattan to Beastie Boys Square in honor of the influential band has been blocked by Community Board 3. The square in question -- Rivington Street, between Essex and Ludlow -- was made famous by the cover of the band's 1989 album, Paul's Boutique.

LeRoy McCarthy, who proposed the idea and has been working to make it happen, was told he needs more signatures even though McCarthy noted that he had already obtained more than the required 75 percent of the signatures from residents and businesses on the block. He added:

Hip Hop was founded in NYC in 1973, since that time, where is the support, and respect for the art form and culture that has made billions of dollars for NYC, given exposure to NYC with pride, and enhanced race relations, among other positives?

I am a Beastie Boys fanatic.

Definitely passionate, maybe obsessive.

Either way, I love them beyond words. The music that they have given us is phenomenal.

Pollywog Stew is their roots... Licensed to Ill is their transition to hip hop, and what got them noticed... Paul's Boutique is an experimental master piece... Check Your Head is beyond dope, and back to their roots...

Ill Communication is exciting and epic... Hello Nasty is trippy, experimental, and another work of art... To The Five Boroughs is filled with politics and playful rhymes... The Mix Up is an award winning, instrumental, def album... And Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 is fricking badass.

'Nuff said. :toocool:

Rock In Peace... Rap In Peace... MCA

"License to Ill" was my soundtrack to sophomore year of high school. I can still recite just about every damn line on that album.

Love 'em!
