FUCK YES. Aside from GD and all of their records.. In Aeroplane Over The Sea was definitely one of the best records to come out of the 90's. Great band! Two Headed Boy is my favourite.

Whoa, whoa whoa whoa. I haven't logged onto GDC for probably a year, I used to LIVE on this forum in high school, and I randomly decided to check out GDC's current Other Bands forum to see what ze kiddies listen to nowadays. In my mind I was thinking "Haha, wouldn't it be crazy if Nuclear Milk Hotel's on the front page...", an amazing band that somehow NO ONE on here mentioned back in the day and I missed out on until recently, and bam, you posted about them.

All I can say is, within a few days In An Aeroplane Over the Sea became one of my favorite albums ever. Up there with all my classic high school favorites. It has a beautiful timelessness about it and the ability to evoke the whirling emotions of my teens that hardly any newly listened to album has been able to do since I grew into my twenties.

I think Green Day fans who don't already listen to this band would really like Two-Headed Boy, actually:

Perfect timing to start this thread, I just started listening to them a couple weeks ago :)
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is just wonderful. And Two-Headed Boy Part 2 is heart-breakingly beautiful.

I love In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, it's brilliant. Although also slightly weird. Holland 1945 being the best song on it, of course.

In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is one of my favorite albums of all time. Its one of those albums that gets better with every listen, and the lyrics manage to impress and surprise me every time as well. Every song on the album is great. I need to listen to On Avery Island soon as well

My best musical experience of 2011 was hearing In The Aeroplane Over The Sea. If they had a longer discography, they'd probably be my favorite band.

I think it's pretty obvious I like Neutral Milk Hotel. I had no idea there was a thread for them :o . I'm seeing Jeff in January, so I really can't wait for that
In the aeroplane over the sea is one of the greatest albums I have ever heard. On Avery Island is good as well.

Oh, man, why haven't I seen this before?! I, along with all of my friends, am absolutely in love with this band!

Jeff Magnum is coming to town in February. I'm a loser and didn't get tickets (it sold out in three hours) but my friends are all going. I'm hoping one of them is nice enough to take a good picture or bring me back some merch. One of my friends is determined to get in the front row and touch Magnum's toes...

You guyssssssssss this thread is getting like no love. ATTENTION ALL GREEN DAY FANS: IF YOU LIKE GOOD MUSIC, LISTEN TO THIS BAND. If it means anything, the guy who made the album art for In the Aeroplane Over the Sea also made the album art for Nimrod, American Idiot, the new trilogy, and other stuff!

I just saw Jeff Mangum in concert the other day. I was right up front at the center of the stage. It was the most perfect series of moments of my life. Not even exaggerating.

I've been listening to Aeroplane a lot lately because it came out 15 years ago this week...It's crazy when you realize how much this record influenced modern indie music.

Jeff Mangum's concert I went to was probably the greatest I've been to. It was so beautiful... and I was right up front, by the stage with no one in front of me for MOST of the thing,

The best part was when he played Oh, Sister :o
