Part of me thinks Tre must've had a ball that day. (no pun intended) :P

This is gonna be the one where everything you say is a double entendre, lol!!

I really want to reserve judgement until I see the full clip, but Tre at 0:20 of that preview does not leave me with high hopes... Oh Tre, why must you sleaze?

I have a feeling it's not just Tre. I swear that's Billie rolling around on top of some girl at the beginning but it's hard to tell. So much sleaze ew

I think it's Billie, the clothes look the same. So strange to see them like this

This will definitely throw a lot of fans for a loop, I'm sure. I'm fine with whatever they want to do, and I'm sure it's not as sleazy as we think.

It could end up being more of a satirical look at how a rockstar's life is supposed to be, with the partying and scantily clad girls. I don't know, I just find it hard to believe that they would take themselves seriously with a video like this. Obviously they aren't rolling around with random women in real life, with the possible exception of Tre so it doesn't really matter one way or another. It's just a music video.

Yeah, I'm not sure how satirical the video will be, but we know that they're not taking it seriously, and don't take part in this in real life, as far as we're led to believe. If you just go into this with a relaxed frame of mind, I don't think it will be that jarring.

Well i just think it's safe to say that there is going to be sexual tension in this video. A lot. I'll leave it at that.

Wake up! It's almost 2013. Keep an open mind. It's a new Green Day. Embrace life and let yourself go!

It's icky to see Tre like that. It's also icky with what is (probably) Billie at the beginning who seems to have his face between a girl's legs.

It's not sexual tension if you're actually hooking up with the girls, guys! It would make more sense if they're just sitting there alone watching a lot of naked girls tease them and make out with each other (which will probably also happen). That would just make sense

The song is the song, and the song is true - the video is an interpretation, and whatever opinion on that is separate. However, I like that this is churning people up - art should do that. :)

Sure, I'll agree with you, as long as this actually turns out as ART and not just a video of sleazy soft-core porn :P With Sam Bayer... well, we'll find out soon enough which way it sways. I think sex can be art, no doubt... there are some shots of this that look vaguely artistic, but a lot that doesn't, and that'll churn people up in a bad way because it's kind of unnecessary. I mean, you can see a girl touching herself and the camera cuts off. If the R-rated version actually shows her touching herself, I won't be watching it... but y'all men can go wild ;)

its just a music video. I kinda like it. Billie says this song is from the crotch area and apparently so is the video. I personally dont see the connection between the song and what they say its about. But they wrote it so I guess it is what they say it is. Looking forward to the whole thing on Wed.

Ah is Green Day doing things like this just to get aired on TV? Well who knows?

Btw yeah Oh Love is all about sexual tension, so we must not be surprised to see a video like this !

Maybe it's just an unfortunate truth that the band's people know that including scantily-clad women in the first single's video will increase rotation and play.

Ugh. Just ugh. Don't really know what else to say - if anyone had told me two years ago that Green Day would ever make a music video like this, I would have laughed in their face. I don't really recognize this band.

Wondering if it's not time to jump ship soon before things go even more downhill (don't think I'll ever get over the fact they have a song coming out called 'Make-Out Party'... jesus christ) - only problem is I still love them to death, so that's what makes it so fucking heartbreaking that at the moment, they're no longer a band that I can say I'm 100% proud of being a fan of, as they have been for the past seven years of my life. I can't even say that I LIKE them very much at the moment. I think they may be just embarrassing themselves with a video like this, and although they have absolutely every right to, I don't have to like it. But believe me, all I WANT to do is like them.

AND since I'm really not in the mood to argue with any of you, can I just put a disclaimer saying that this is all just my personal opinion, and no it wasn't the video alone that brought it on (and yes, I know I haven't seen the full thing yet!!!). I just needed to vent somewhere (in addition to twitter, hah) and you're all welcome to love this video just as much as I already hate it. So please feel free to ignore this post, instead of jumping down my throat. I'm not a hater, just very disappointed in them at the moment.

...

*Cue lots of people telling me I'm overreacting* I do overreact to everything Green Day, good or bad, but that's just because I care so much (too much). And can I just say again that this is not just about this video, it's more or less everything I've heard about this GD era so far that has rubbed me the wrong way, and some of my worst fears were pretty much confirmed in what little I just saw of the Oh Love video. Just.. ugh. This is not the band I fell in love with. :(

Good to get that off my chest. As you were, people.

EDIT: oh and, worst page own ever!

Is that actually true though? I feel like society is kinda immune to this stuff now. Maybe years ago when this would have been considered "risqué"... but naked women are pretty much old hat now, and I really don't think using them would actually help the popularity of the video. I guess it depends just HOW ridiculous it is.

Honestly, i dont think it was green day's fault that that was a bad first impression of the video. I mean, it was sam bayer who came up with the idea on how the video was gonna be like, not green day.

Are we sure about that? Have they said that? Green Day has come up with their own ideas for videos before, so...

Green day said that sam came up with the idea for the video, and they liked the idea. It was in an interview, but i forgot which one

Of course they liked it. I'm increasingly noticing that all 40+ men are skeavy

It would be a funny final image if this video ends with all of them getting slapped on the face by their mothers.

Just a theory.

I'm not gonna go too far, I think they're still the same old band we love, and hey it's not often you like nearly everything about a person/band and I think i can honestly say the good out weighs the bad. But I still love their music and want that to continue without getting hung up on stuff like this.

I feel exactly the same as everyone else, but I guess the video isn't forced to fit with the song, like WMUWSE is about Billie's dad but the video is about war. It looks completely hideous so far (to me personally, please don't bash me), but I'm not going to make a proper judgement until I've seen the entire thing.

If that is actually Billie with his head between that woman's legs at the beginning, erm... I don't even know. Yeah, I'll just wait to see, maybe the whole thing is better.

Wonder if the band realized they'd alienate like half of their female fan base with this :P

Nevertheless I'm eager to get this over with so I can either never watch it again or be relieved it's not as cringeworthy as it looks.
