Green Day References

Haven't scrolled through the 99 pages here, but I can think of two:

-In The Inbetweeners (very good show) there's a GD poster in the common room.

-My little brother was reading a book, Superheroes Don't Eat Vegie Burgers, and apparently one of the characters split milk on her Green Day shirt.

Another one: earlier this morning, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation was broadcasting Insiders, which is a sort of news panel show. They had a little video clip beforehand about a racist incident against an Iranian-born politician, and for some reason they decided to play American Idiot in the background during the clip.

EDIT: Here's the clip, with AI in all its uncensored glory.

Found the clip.

This was weird. Was just writing a check and after dating it today’s date (Tre’s birthday) I noted the check number and it was 1039!

I love InBetweeners!! I remember I loved seeing all the different posters in their common room. I remember the Green Day one, Muse, and Marilyn Manson all bands I love.

There's just been a question about Good Riddance on "The Chase." Except they referred to it as "Time of Your Life (Good Riddance)."

Was listening to the song Mama Said today,

never really noticed these lyrics before

I went walking the other day and
        Everything was going fine
Met a little boy named Billie Joe
And then I almost lost my mind

^^^ On a similar note, I've been listening to the Eagles my whole life but only recently noticed that Take the Money and Run "Is a story about Billie Joe and Bobbi Sue"

Doh! OMG you’re right. I’m getting senile. I always confuse Take the Money and Run with Life In the Fast Lane ☺️

After the national championship game last night, one of the school’s bands (presumably Alabama’s) played Basket Case

Found this salad on my birthday. I was even wearing my 'Dookie' shirt!

Also: In Paper Towns, Q is going through Margot's music, and mentions she has Green Day. (I do not recommend that book, btw)

one of the hairstylist/youtube person I watch who does the best reaction to hair fails and other videos did a video reacting to early 2002's emo/punk band styles. (MCR, Fall out Boy, Paramore etc.) was not expecting Green Day to be honest. though he did use a picture from the amas last year. :ermm:

he didn't seem to know the band members names except for Pete Wentz(his "husband") and Haley Williams (a goddess and would go straight for her)

He starts talking about green day @ 7:15

some of the things that made me cringe

- were they ever young/ never young:dry:

- that Billie looked the youngest

-were the always older guys? (I'm assuming he's referring to AI as his first  impression)
