I'm so excited
I hate the Blink store. They're trying to charge me 10 bucks to ship 1 one dollar bracelet.
"Apple Shampoo" has to be my favorite song by them.
Unlike Green Day, I think Blink-182 can evolve and still sound just as kick ass as they used to be. I don't care what anyone says, Neighborhoods was a good album.
Can't wait to hear their next album considering they're recording it!
So does that mean Reading was the last official Blink show? Hopefully so cos then I can claim I was at it.
After the festival thing I hope they just form a new band as these 3, Hoppus, Barker and the Trio guy could really put together a few great tracks. Lyrically/Technically Alkaline Trio are v good, just struggled to grasp that wordwide audience, Hoppus and Travis could easily bring the catchiness (is that a word) to the tracks and form a great little band. I'd love to see them do what Gerard Way did too and just start off by playing tiny shows not going straight for your O2 Arena's etc.
What the shit, Tom. Just when I was getting my hopes up for a new album and finally seeing them live *boom* shot dead. I hope Mark and Travis continue making music together at least. I really enjoyed +44. I think I officially hate Tom Delonge (again).
Looks like Tom is unofficially officially out.
Is anyone surprised, honestly? I'm not...
I guess I'm not, but that's with hindsight talking for me. It just seemed weird to me that it would take this long to do a followup to Neighborhoods. I understood that they each had their own side projects and other work, but to hear about the what seemed to be constant starts and stops to recording a followup were signs to me that something was up.
I've always hated Tom, and I love Alkaline Trio, so honestly I'm not too upset by this news at all. I agree — Travis and Mark might be able to make a more "mainstream" form of Alkaline Trio's music with this new version of blink-182, if Matt continues to sub in for Tom. I guess we'll wait and see what happens.
Yeah, I'm not much of a fan of Blink except for a few things but Tom's always seemed like a dick, and usually his songs (at least in the early days 'cuz that's all I listen to) were really weak. He did do "Peggy Sue" though, which I think is one of their best songs. Anyways, he's a dick, they may be better off without him.
I just can't believe he left when they were hoping to release a new album this year. Shows how much of an ass he is.
Oi, I actually did not see this coming. Then again I keep forgetting that blink even exist, so I'd say this is probably the best thing to happen to the band. Excited to hear what they'll sound like.
But the "got an e-mail from Tom's manager" bit made me cringe. Like why can't the bastard just talk to his ol' buds like any other normal person would do.
i saw them live last summer and they were really bad. nothing like 10 years ago (edit more like 15 shit i'm getting old).
maybe it was the best choice.
With Blink being my 2nd favorite band, this news really really sucks. Hopefully Matt can help bring in an actual effort to Blink that Tom didn't want to and make some new music with Mark and Travis
BLINK-182.0!! (or Blink-183... Whichever sounds better)
