Yeah, it's sad they didn't show them...they'd have fit in well with the Olympics with their great bombast and proclivity for laser light shows. Also them playing Knights of Cydonia would have been the coolest opening ever. Yknow, give Sir Paul a rest.

I believe they were in LA during the ceremony.
I haven't even heard Survival during the Olympics which is super frustrating since it's the official song.

Muse is my second favourite band after Green Day, I adore them . Survival is fabulous! Hearing that and looking at the song titles I'm super excited for the new album.

What were they doing in LA? XD
I think they played some other Muse song, but agreed. Why not Survival?

I think they're working on a music video. I don't see why they have to do that in LA though.

So yeah, here's the video...the song is pretty much the trailer except it plays twice.

I'm pretty miffed they kept in the lady blabbering on about some law of dynamics or whatever. Like obviously I don't mind a few political themes or whatever, but Muse has always been God awful about being subtle about it. I don't need that doomsday sciency stuff thrown in my face while listening to a music, which I tend to use as an escape from all that shit. So while I'm liking the juxtaposition between orchestra and dubstep, this is another of Muse's over-the-top political statements I'll have to cringe my way through.

For the whole album, considering this and Survival, I can't help but feel they're going a little TOO over the top. Like yeah, that's Muse and all...but I still think there's a line to be drawn somewhere, especially when you've got their earlier stuff being fantastic and epic without the use of orchestras all over the place...

What the actual fuck was that Unsustainable video? No discernible lyrics, just guitar feedback loops, actress dialogue, an orchestra, and a couple of screams by Matt Bellamy?

Howsabout we do something Origin of Symmetry-ish, huh?

Wow, I love that picture of Matt.
Other than that, that article and what Muse says in it is just... Freaking me out! I hate how they're saying about all the dubstep being the new metal, and how the moshpit has changed from guitars to laptops. That is so not true. It's like, they saw Skrillex live and decided not to care about their fans that love all their guitar work anymore, just to toss everything away and let themselves go with the new generation of music. That's not what I would like bands to do.

So yeah, here's the video...the song is pretty much the trailer except it plays twice.

I don't know how to feel about that song...I think it can grow on you but now it's like WTF because that's not normally their style and I totally agree I was so sick of the video throwing the world is shit in my face. This is something I know, so thanks for stating the obvious Muse.
