Not sure if anyone knows about this already, but you should definitely check out awfulmodifications.tumblr.com, it's really good site. Not only do they post lots of photos of how body modification shouldn't be done (self-piercing, at home tattooing etc), they also have lots of information on piercing/stretching and they post up a lot of guides too. It's really useful.

yes! They're great. some of the stuff they post is super gross though :(

Also, blogs specifically for tattoos!
critink.tumblr.com and dermagraphique.tumblr.com are AWESOME resources for good vs. bad tattoos, criticism/ratings, general info and that kind of thing.
For pictures of good tattoos, I follow fuckyeahrealtattoos and for bad ones fucknobadtattoos.
fytattoos is actually a terrible resource, like 80% of what's on there is not very good (as you will often see their posts on the above blogs as examples of what NOT to do).
I did recognize the flowers you have on your foot though, Carling :)

Isn't a scaffold the same as an industrial?

In England most of the time it's called a scaffold, but yeah it's the same thing.

I like stretched ears, although looks-wise I do prefer them quite small. As long as they're done safely though it's all fine by me. There's nothing worse than massive blowouts.

I know a lot of people who hate them (e.g. my parents) and I used to think stretching was gross when I was younger. idk, the aesthetic grew on me a lot and I love the type of jewelry I get to wear with stretched ears. I think anything over about 1"-1.5" doesn't always look nice, though. but my piercer has about 2" ears and they look really nice on him! so it just varies.

and my friends think it's super gross that I can fit fingers through my earlobes :P

I agree. When it's just a couple inches I find it okay, only certain people can pull it off though. However, when it gets to the point where you could probably stick your entire fist through the holes... that's when I find it repulsive.

I don't mind it if they're small. But when people start using shot glasses on their ears (see the image below) they've definitely taken stretching too far, at least that's my opinion.

I've actually seen people like that. But that was just in image I borrowed from google :P

How big are your lobes, if you don't mind me asking?

I started stretching a few months ago cause I like the way it looks and I never wore regular earrings anyway. I'm at 3mm and I'm looking forward to being able to wear pretty plugs when I get a bit bigger.

I just stretched to 7/16" last week. I think my goal size is 5/8" but every time I go up a size I want to keep going, heh.
but yeah what I enjoy about stretching is keeping in the same jewelry for longer periods of time since I didn't often wear earrings before I started stretching. I just keep my steel tunnels in all the time which is convenient, though it'd be nice to get some fancy wood or bone plugs at some point.

Yeah I'm holding off on investing in fancy plugs till I'm nearer my goal size (about 2g/0g I think.) Till then I'm sticking to plain steel tunnels.

I bought a CBR to put in my helix today, but I can't get it to go in :( I couldn't find the exit hole and then it started bleeding. So then I tried to put my other earring back in but it's swollen so I can't put anything in now. I m worried that if I don't get an earring in it soon it will close :(

Edit: Yay I got my earring back in. I guess Ill wait a few months before trying the CBR again

Also my co-worker was just watching an episode of tosh.o and some dude was hammering a nail thru his hand ala jesus. He nailed his hand to a table. :shok:

I really want my Hogwarts tattoo. Its now a matter of waiting until I've saved enough money rather than being a matter of deciding whether I actually want it.

Some 12 year old girl I used to take the bus with pierced her own tongue last week.

Her own tongue? =/ HOW?! That would hurt like a motherbitch.

In other news, I just hit my goal of 10 piercings. I'm getting my 11th on Sunday though.

Currently I have:
- Left lobe, 1.6mm
- Right lobe, 1.6 mm
- Second left lobe
- Second right lobe
- Third left lobe
- Third right lobe
- Left tragus
- Left lip
- Right nostril
- Belly button

Tongue being done on Sunday, I'm terrified but I really want it. I want an industrial too, right side, but I can't afford it just yet. Tongue is a birthday present.
