Also Jack is 38 today! Or Yesterday... time zones...

My sister's boyfriend went not too long ago and got me some stickers and a pin.  Apparently the place has like vending machines with pins in them, kind of like those things you put quarters in as a kid and got the little capsule toys and whatnot.  I want to go there too.  Seems like a theme park for musicians.

Well, this is cool song.

But, it kinda scares me with this reversed slide guitar.

Considering his last solo album I'm not that excited for this one. If anything I hope it'll be more interesting. Don't get me wrong Blunderbuss was good, but it really felt like he held himself back at times and there are some songs you have to be in a certain mood to listen to.

Although I do wish he'd get back with Meg, anything with his name on it is gonna be incredible.

Oh yeah, I didn't LOVE his first album, I like it but it's definitely not one of those albums I would go back to listen to a whole lot, but it seems like this one will be interesting (if the rest of the songs are similar to what we've heard so far) so I think I'll like it better :D

I thought Blunderbuss was really good but High Ball Stepper has really given me hope that this could be THE Jack White record I always hoped he'd make. Some properly badass blues rock in the vein of Ball & Biscuit.

Sure not something like B&B. More like "Icky Thump".

Just finished listening to the new album...I still don't quite know what I think, other than that Jack has some issues he needs to get help with. It was strange.

Yeah..my feelings toward the album are the same ones I had for Blunderbuss. There are some great stand out songs and others that need to grow on you. All the songs are good, but it's not an all around rocking album. A lot of it you need to be in a certain mood for it.

Overall, I prefer Blunderbuss - with that, it didn't take too long for me to like it (mainly because Sixteen Saltines is great), but I'm still not sure about this one. It's good, it's just...there's something a bit off.

I agree with you there. I don't know what it is, but it's not a record that I instantly fell in love with and I wouldn't call it the best of this year.

Saw Jack yesterday at Hammersmith Apollo - set was fantastic (seriously, look up the setlist), but the crowd was barely moving at all, even for the old stuff.
