Why for Warning does it say 'will any man stand up and claim this to be his favourite Green Day album'? Are they calling me a woman?

Why do they think Dookie is the best and Warning is the worst? :S it is very subjective rank. Rubbish. 8)

Placing Insomniac 2nd = massive respect for NME

As for the list I would only swap Nimrod with Kerplunk! Warning, 1,039 and 21stCB aren't really that good compared to the others

If I wanted to be polite, I'd say the writer and I have a significant difference of opinion when it comes to the quality of Green Day's music.

But I don't feel like being polite right now, so instead I'll say this: Ain't it great to see what happens when one drinks for twelve hours straight and then tries to write a record review?

Whoever wrote that list didn't seem to like any of their records. There was a negative or snide remark for every one of them and most of them didn't even make sense.

I'm gonna write what I wrote in the Random News thread as well:

I think it's the opinion of the guy who rated it but imo I would have rated the albums like this:

8 ) Warning

7) Kerplunk

6) 21st Century Breakdown

5) 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours

4) Dookie

3) Insomniac

2) Nimrod

1) American Idiot

but I'm not so sure about the 5-8

and they wrote 39/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Tre Cool

My ranking:

8 ) 39/Smooth (Primary due to recording quality, not overall musical/lyrical quality)

7) Kerplunk (Ditto...would love to see both albums re-recorded one day)

6) Insomniac (Rank #6 doesn't do this justice, I'd consider this spot a "B+")

5) Nimrod

4) Warning (Nimrod musical quality with songwriting that's getting real, real good)

3) Dookie (Gotta salute the breakthrough album)

2) 21st Century Breakdown (Takes overall artistry to a new level with fucking prophetic lyrics and musical styles they'd never attempted before. Dampened only by heavy negativity in the songwriting a'la Insomniac and overproduced vocals.)

1) American Idiot ('Nuff said.)

8 ) 21st Century Breakdown

7) Insomniac

6) 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours

5) Nimrod

4) Kerplunk!

3) Warning

2) American Idiot

1) Dookie

But that's just me :)

Lol he's gonna need some aloe vera, cause he just got burned!

Now keep in mind for my list, I think every album is stellar, and I love them each in its own way so it's really hard to pick favorites so it's an attempt at a list. Least favorite first

-1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours

-Insomniac

-Warning

-Nimrod

-21st Century Breakdown

-Dookie

-American Idiot

-Kerplunk

1. They spelt Billie Joe as 'Billy Joe'

2. They didn't say Warning is a great album

3. They called 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours '39/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours' and had the cover for 39/Smooth

4. They called Kerplunk! just 'Kerplunk'

5. These question marks all over the place drive me mad

I didn't really like this article. Here would be my list:

you love Kerplunk the most?

Yep. Although it was extremely difficult to choose between the top three. But I think it has more range than Dookie, I can relate to the songs more, and are 12 perfect songs that encapsulate Green Day for me. I had to get the vinyl version and edit it on iTunes because I hate when the Sweet Children EP it tacked on the end. But that's just my opinion.

Finally a magazine that doesn't list 21st Century Breakdown and American Idiot as their best albums. Much respect for putting Insomniac as #2.

Interesting list overall. I have a totally different one, but everyone is allowed to have his own opinion, right?
