Sweetness!
I love being able to see their perspective from inside the studio. I adore the information age, I must say.

WOHOOO!!!
Holy shit balls! Can't wait for the static noise episode where these videos are being discussed.. I'm catching up on that, I've listened to about 15 episodes since yesterday, now everything I read is in Andres' voice, and caps lock is in Mikey's voice.
Cumsluts.

Looks like Billie is going to be playing a lot of Gretsch's on the new album. It's gonna sound fucking great.
Here's a good look at the Gretsh Billie is playing @ 0:20 for any others who are interested in guitars: http://used.samashmu...tem.php?id=3889

Another one!!!!!
It's interesting hearing them talking about the songs, how they want them to be...
So, can anyone read what is written on the white board at 0:25??

Man this just made me more and more excited!
I hate it that it is only audio, because I am sure they made quite some cuts in that conversation just to keep it vague enough for us to keep guessing

I bet the 3 guest currently reading this topic is Billie, Mike and Tré. I also bet they're laughing their ass off at the excitement they've created. ._.

So basically I just refreshed GD's Youtube page and saw that the name of the new video changed really quickly then changed back. I got all stoked thinking it was some kind of super secret hidden easter egg thing that would reveal an earth shattering detail about the new album and shit, but when I refreshed it again I was able to see it just changes to "gd week2day2" lol. I feel underwhelmed.

I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to different guitar sounds. Can someone explain what the Gretsch sounds like versus whatever he's used to record more with in the past (Floyd)?
Also, does anyone have an example of Billie playing the gretsch live?

This is simply amazing, all of these videos they keep giving us. It's also really cool actually hearing Billie and Rob talk about the new album. It makes it seem that much closer and exciting.

There won't be too much of a noticeable difference on a record because it gets mixed and mastered to sound nice, also the amp and pick-up is a whole lot more important than the actual guitar most of the time. Hollow body guitars (which a lot of Gretsch's are) have a little smooother nicer tone while on clean setting. If you plug a hollow body and a solid body into a big amp and crank the distortion however, you'll hardly notice a difference. The hollow body might be a bit thinner sound, less bassy, but honestly on a record you would be hard pressed to notice. To someone that isn't a guitar nut, you'll hardly be able to tell the difference, if at all. I would be much more interested to know if he's using say a Vox AC30 amp vs a Mesa Stack, then you would definitely be able to tell the difference.
Here's him playing one. You could get the same tone with a stratocaster or les paul if you wanted really, but if I had the money I'd also be playing a Gretsch instead because they're bad ass.
