I've realized that I basically have a horrible shopping addiction, so I'm cutting myself off from any more shopping until at least spring. I have so many fucking clothes and I'm going to wear them instead of buying new ones every other week.

Ok, so I'm not allowed to remember they exist because they're for christmas, but mom got me some ankle boots with a heel today! It was actually really cool cause they're my first pair of heels. They look sort of like this, but are prettier; they have thinner laces, are made from a more mottled material and stuff:

Spoiler

I felt so wicked cause once I put them on everyone in the store was saying how good they looked (ah yes, inflate my ego some more). It was cool. And I have lots of black shoes, but no brown ones, so it'll add another colour of shoe to my wardrobe which will be useful.

I really like earth tones, but so many "teenager/young adult" shops here have these hideous, synthetic clothes that are too bold and bright for my liking. I want to get chilled out and get a wardrobe full of more muted colours.

So I'm not really a leggings kind of girl, but Walgreens had fleeced lined ones on sale 2 for $10, so I bought them. Wore one pair for the first time today with a dress over them and rocking short boots with lots of buckles. Hubby didn't like the look. :(

Now what do I do with these leggings? I need something that will cover my butt and the top of my thighs (because they are huge and bumpy :(). Not sure I have something else like than already in my wardrobe.

Maybe a tight jersey skirt and a long wool vest/cardigan/i don't know the word?

Thanks. I'll check out my closet and see if I can make this work. :)

For the record both my mother and Rob and probably half the people I see in a day hate all of my leggings so if you like wearing them just do it :P

But yeah mom feels weird wearing them without something long so she usually wears some kind of little skirt (if you don't have one they're literally $5 at Forever 21 and come in any colour you could ever want) or a longer cardigan/sweater of sorts like Sanne said.

You have a bloody massive one so I think you'll do alright :P

I know it comes off as a ~young kind of store but it's a good place to go if you're looking to experiment with something you wouldn't normally wear because it's not expensive at all.

It might be massive but it doesn't really have the items for the outfits I'd like to put together with leggings. And I shop occasionally at Forever 21. Not everything fits me right (older body and so many of their clothes are for smaller ones!) but occasionally I find just the right item. I just need to start looking differently at clothes to get them to work with the leggings. They really are comfy. :)

At least your husband gives you feedback on clothes... Mine would be satisfied (and wouldn't even notice) if I wore a T-shirt and sweats every day.

aww to me that outfit sounded so cute!! But, I've had lots of things sound cute in theory and then turn out weirdly :P Maybe you could try wearing the leggings with pumps for a more streamlined look? Or just wear them casually on the weekends with a really long, chunky sweater and those high, flat-heeled boots that have been in style for a year or so now and are the best thing to have ever happened to women.

I think I need a dress for NYE. I'm thinking something like a classic black cocktail dress. Not too fancy, but not too casual either... I just havent found one that I liked yet. :(

Oh shit I need to find one too. However I also want to make sure I'll be doing something before I go out and get something to wear otherwise I'll end up all dressed up playing LoL (I wish I was kidding!).

Doooo ittt. I did the same with a pair of sheer black tights that had some runs in them. Took a seam ripper to them & now they really goth up my outfits.

I would love to go full on goth with my style, but I sadly have a very cutesy face, chubby cheeks, the works. my aim is to incorporate more of the style as I lose weight & tone up (I'm joining a gym when I move early next year), as maybe that'll help me suit it more but atm, I feel like it wouldn't suit me, which sucks ass tbh :P

I've only bought a new winter coat and two pairs of new boots this winter. In my defense, those items were all on sale for Black Friday and cost me less than $150.00 total. Other than that, I haven't purchased any new sweaters, shirts, pants, whatever and I'm quite proud of myself  I've actually had to become more creative with my clothes, which is always good.

My mum was nice enough to give me £80 Christmas money (to buy stuff now to be wrapped up and opened on the day), the amount of clothes I've bought with it is ridiculous. I  charity shops and sales, spent the last £4 of it on a fabulous polka dot dress in a charity shop today. My sister tends to buy full price clothes as she's fussier about the styles she wears so it's not as easy to find stuff she likes really cheap, I'm going to have like 4 times as many presents to unwrap as her.

Maybe getting this for my uncle's birthday party

ply-tropical-print-bandeau-playsuit.jpg

he wants everyone to dress in tropical theme, and since I can't find any Hawaiian shirts that could fit me this is the next best thing. Either this or I might find some tropical print shorts and wear those with a singlet
