Finally got the Sims 4 installed! I laughed out loud in some parts of it, emotions make them act so funny (little things like slamming the fridge door when they're tense).

Still only played for about 5 hours though. Haven't done much (and it's the base game so there isn't much to do anyway) but I think I like it better than the Sims 3 in general. It loads much faster and there's almost no saving time at all (!!!) It's great. I just wish that every clothing item wasn't already available, that we would have to go shopping in clothing stores and stuff, like we did in the Sims 2. Don't know why they decided to not go back to that, as it is much more fun (and realistic) that way.

They said there's going to be a patch for swimming pools. I wonder when that's coming out.

It's a game update that comes in September. It's gonna be free like the ghosts. And then there are gonna be new careers in December. Again, free game update.

^ AW Sims sitting by the pool! That's great.

Did they say anything about the toddlers? I'm really missing them...

So I'm playing Sims 4 more and I like it. It's not great, but it is fun and I actually like the emotions (though it makes your sims into drama queens sometimes). I also like that your sims are smarter when it comes to free will. If they really have to go to the bathroom, they'll take care of it themselves. There are still lots of things I miss like so many of the town places and the freaking repair service. I hate that my only options are repair and replace.

My pregnant Sim starved to death. :( It happened so quickly as well. Normally they take ages to starve when you want them too.

^Her energy and hunger were both really low, but her energy was slightly lower, so I put her to bed for a bit and was going to wake her up to eat, but she got out of bed and died before I could do anything about it. :( I really enjoyed that sim as well, she was going places

Aw no :( in that situation I usually go for feeding them, even if they fall asleep on their food it still means they're not going to starve (plus they have food right in front of them when they wake up  )

^Yeah, I've learned the hard way to do that. Pregnant sims are hard to look after, their needs are so low. I really didn't think she'd die though :o Her ghost appears in maternity wear now whenever she gos a-haunting

Ikr, and they always need to sleep, eat and use the toilet at the same time  I've never managed to kill one though

Omg, but does she not have the bump anymore?

i'm bad when it comes to cheating. i set their needs to high and hold it there, motherlode the living shit out of it, and just make them sleep around, get famous & get awesome jobs.

i hate playing without cheats, i just don't enjoy it.

Well you can focus on improving their skills if you don't have to worry about their needs. I mean, it's not as if making them go to the loo and eat breakfast is the most exiting part of the game :P

Idk man, watching them cooking those toaster pastries, wondering if they're going to burn the kitchen down really has me on the edge of my seat.

I always forget that cheat exists, :o

I pretty much always use the money cheats, but for once i didn't, so when my sims got rich through their own hard work it was actually more fun and rewarding getting them a new house and cool stuff as they went along rather than having the best of everything straight away.

in the traditional sense, mostly yes, but it allows you to focus on arguably more fun/interesting things like building skills and relationships. when i was really into the sims (2) i would constantly use cheats to adjust their needs and i still had plenty to do in the game and had a lot of fun. a lot of the time i find that tending to their needs is just tedious. and i guess to an extent that's the point of the game, but eh.

I use the free real estate cheat, because if I try to move house in the middle of the game it crashes. So I just remove house prices at the beginning and buy the best house I can find. That way i don't have to worry about it later

I've done that as well.  But more because I spent the time just building a fancy house and well I kinda want to use it.

Has anyone gotten the new Game Pack? I think I'm gonna get it but I promised myself I'd wait until finals were over. It doesn't seem that extravagant but it's 20 dollars as opposed to the whopping price of 40 dollars for those old expansion packs.

i uninstalled Sims 4 recently because i had a space issue (an external hard drive would be good right about now) but i was loving the game. then again i had like 20 mods installed lol

i miss the toddlers. i'd rather have them than pools tbh. i've had houses with pools in the Sims 3 but i'd hardly touch them lol. toddlers were so interactive and cute. idk, maybe in an expansion pack...

anyway, about a month ago, i learned how to make shirts. here's the first one i made :D
