I really hope I'm opening this in the right section! The other one was closed... but I think that's becasue it was in the old general chat :P

So...The Sims is a strategic life-simulation computer game developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. It was created by game designer Will Wright, also known for developing SimCity. It is a simulation of the daily activities of one or more virtual persons ("Sims") in a suburban household near SimCity.
The Sims was first released on February 4, 2000.[1] By March 22, 2002, The Sims had sold more than 6.3 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling PC game in history;[2] the game has shipped 16 million copies worldwide as of February 7, 2005.[3] Since its initial release, seven expansion packs and sequels, The Sims 2 and the newest sequel The Sims 3 (each with their own expansion packs), have been released. The Sims has won numerous awards, including GameSpot's "Game of the Year Award" for 2000.

The sims 3 is coming out with a much anticipated expansion pack...UNLEASHED!! We get pets again!!

Yet another leaked trailer for The Sims 3 has been smuggled onto the Internet, and its contents are sure to make fans bright-eyed and bushy tailed.

The Sims 3 is finally getting pets added to the game in an Unleashed expansion that's apparently also going to be available as a stand-alone release for consoles and handhelds.

Based on the footage, you'll be able to play Frisbee with dogs, watch cats dip their paws in fish bowls and hope that snakes stay comfortably inside their terrariums. Yet the biggest surprise is that you aren't just getting household pets, but other animals as well.

Raccoons will make mischief near your garbage cans, deer will likely eat your flowers and skunks are sure to leave their distinctive scent on anything that frightens them. Oh, and your Sims can ride horses. Pets in the Unleashed expansion will also have traits.

The trailer shows various dog breeds as aggressive, adventurous, stupid, independent, patient and loyal, while the featured cat is playful and "likes to swim," which can't be good news for any pet fish. The anticipated release date for this fifth expansion is October 2011.

Again I really hope I'm posting this in the right place :pinch:

I've never owned a Sims game myself, but playing at my friend's place is always fun. We always make gay couples. :D

However, I think all discussion about gaming is supposed to take place in a single gaming thread from now on.

I remember when I was little, my big brother used to spend hours playing the Sims. And I used to sit next to him, waiting paciently for the 5 minutes when he needed to go to the bathroom - because in those 5 minutes he let me play instead of him. Most times, the only thing I could do in the game while he wasn't there was, for example, opening the fridge. But I was very happy for that, anyway. :pinch:

I still play The Sims, now the Sims 3. But only usually when I'm on holidays....

I love Sims! I didn't dare buying Sims 3, cause I know there will be no more studying or social life if I do.
I know a lot of us make celebrities, it'd be fun if people posted screen shots of their BJ's, Tre's and Mike's! :D

Ugh. The other day I uninstalled TS2 (+ 16 expansions) to make room for TS3, and it doesn't fucking work :( When I try to open it it says the application encountered a problem and needs to close. I tried a few things but it still wouldn't work, so I guess my computer is just not good enough.

Fuck my life :(

The Sims! I haven't played the sims in years! I only ever had the sims1 with all the expansions, then they released sims2 and I didn't have room for it on my computer, so I gave up on it :(

I have TS3 and had it installed on my computer, but I didn't like it much since I had it when it first came out and I was so used to playing TS2 with all the expansion packs plus a crap loud of custom content. So I ended up uninstalling TS3 and installing TS2 again. I might like TS3 more now that there is a lot of CC for it and a few EP's. I may try it again when I get a new laptop, but it definitely wouldn't work on the one I have now. I'm lucky TS2 works as good as it does on my laptop. I do love it though.

I uninstalled all my expansions and the game itself a few months (a year?) ago, because my computer is an old schmuck and the Sims take a lot of room.
I just didn't want to uninstall Photoshop, so I had to do something. :ninja:

Some days, I really miss playing with the Sims. I had the Sims 2, by the way. As for expansions, I had Nightlife, Bon Voyage, Open for Business and University Life... unless it's called College Life? Anyways.

The Sims rock. I miss making a bunch of people and controlling their lives, haha.

Made two people get married, they had kids, they were ugly, so I killed them and made them have more. Made the dad have an affair with the sister and the maid, he got them both pregnant and then they "died by flies" after giving birth. Eventually killed the father so the mother was left with like... Seven children, two of which weren't even hers.

Productive day was productive.

Anyone else tried putting the baby on the grill?

Oh god the amount of money I've spent on these games is ridiculous. I'm obsessed! I wish I had room on my laptop to play both TS2 and TS3, they take up so much memory.

Oh man, I used to be so obsessed with the Sims. I never got into TS3 that much, I stuck with TS2 just because I had a crapload of CC and all the expansions. But I haven't been playing as much lately because I had it all downloaded on my old PC, and it's been really glitchy. Maybe now that there are some cool expansions for TS3, I'll install it on my new computer. :)

That complex has given you your 101st rep point. Be grateful.

It's just that it's fun, because you can make a bunch of scenarios involving people you know. Then you can wish it were real and brew over how pathetic you are for wishing that. I used to do so for hours.
