I've never been and even if it makes me uncool to say it, I really like classical music so... win win.

Not uncool at all.  However when we went we were given the choice of tickets for the ballet or the Four Tops.  Since hubby's not a ballet kind of guy, the Four Tops won out.  But I bet the ballet with full orchestra would have been fabulous.

I want to hear all about it.  (maybe in the Theatre Club?!!)  Enjoy!!

Well, not necessarily SF, but hopefully you can make your way to the East Bay to go to Rudy's, Gilman, etc.! Alcatraz is really cool, but it may be cold as shit this time of year

Anyone familiar with the Twin Cities? Particularly any used book or music stores, museums and restaurants? We like boring American food (diner, stuff like that), Italian, and German/Polish places.

I'm in Ireland right now. But I work 12 hours a day, so there's no time left for any sightseeing. Tomorrow, I'll go and have dinner somewhere with my co-workers, but today and yesterday I just went straight to the hotel, because I was so exhausted. Also, the streets here are so tiny and horrible, I felt so sick after the drive to the hotel today. The landscape is quite nice though. :)

I need to get out of here for a while, probably next year. I have the year off so I might as well do something with it. But I don't know if I'm gonna save up (unlikely) and go interrailing, or just move around within one country, or settle down somewhere for a few months. I need to try and figure it out but I have no idea where to start =/

Just go! Don't overthink it. Interrailing might be a good idea as once you hit 25 you have to pay for the adult travel thing which is far more expensive. I know that seems ages away but it snuck up on me pretty quick and next year is my last chance as on the cheaper ticket. There are some great podcasts out there for budget/solo/female travel, endless websites and forums like this to help.

Has anyone got any travel tips for Venice? Gonna be there for 3 days and from what I've read they are out to fuck over tourists at every turn so I'm slightly apprehensive.

I've never been but I've heard all the stories about rip offs so just be aware. Save up money and do prepare to pay way over the odds. If you're in the right mindset you'll enjoy it. A glass of wine in St Mark's Square might cost €20 but you're not buying the wine, you're renting a slice of the Venice experience. Gondolas are insane prices at first but the men will haggle and you can get the price down by about half apparently. I'd say don't bother with them though. Good luck, let us know how it goes!

How to convince parents to let me go travelling. ANY HELP?

Are they worried about you going alone? Maybe convince them you want to visit a relatively safe, modern country. Look up what you might need to know in terms of the right travel equipment, emergency numbers etc. Let them know you're serious about it and do some planning already. Worst case scenario, they're surely not gonna tie you to a kitchen chair. Just go anyway!

HAVE FUN! Who headlines Saturday now tho?

I'm going to visit my brother in Germany this weekend. Embarrassingly it's actually the furthest east I've been while remaining in Europe

Thanks!! :) It's now Johnson vs. Cariaso, not the best fight but there's a lot of other good fights on the card too so it's still gonna be a blast. :D

Suggested to Rob that we go to California, Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon over the holidays... Not sure if that's feasible or not though idk how to book a trip like that.
