They want me to only focus on school, so they find that any 'merch' gets in the way. I love my shirt, but i don't like hiding it. At that time, they release albums much quicker (Dookie>Insomniac [1 year].. Insomniac>Nimrod[2 years]) so I literally progressed with and grew up with them as they released albums and matured. By Warning, I was 16 and was actually loved what they were doing. I'm not going to sit here and say I saw American Idiot coming next, I was resigned to the fact that for the rest of my life Green Day's largest moments were behind them and I would have them to myself and a small group of followers. But over the years, I've definitely amassed, and sadly sometimes lost, some of my stuff. I have concert jackets, 20 or so pre-AI shirts, foam middle fingers, tattoos, tour programs, Hard Rock Casino poker chips, guitar picks, signed guitars, an AMAZING replica of "Blue", a guitar they personally handed to me on stage and then signed for me after the show, first pressings of all the great records (Dookie, 39 Smooth, 1000 Hours, Sweet Children, etc etc). I could go on for years about the things I've bought, been given, or even lost. However, in all my years, I've been thinking lately, what are the things I love most? What items mean the world to me? Yes, all of them. I do love them all. I wouldn't want to give up anything I have but what is YOUR personal favorite? If I had to choose 1, it would def. have to be the one Mike bent down and handed to me personally (and even as other people reached for it he was like "No, this is for him!") and then all the guys signed for me afterward and we had gotten a good chance to talk. I'd say EVERYTHING comes in a close second.. my wife bought me a signed guitar, first (laytonville) pressings of 39 Smooth, 1000 Hours, and Slappy. Then Tre's stick he gave to me, all the picks they've given to me and well, as much as I love everything else, it could be replaced again in time. I know it is hard to pick, but I'm just wondering because for the last 2 weeks I've been obsessing over owning a great all but perfect copy of "Blue". It's Blue man.. and I own something that is made to be exactly what Billie Joe loves. I love it all. So now I wonder.. what cool GD memorabilia is out there and what are your favorites?
