I actually lied, kind of. OTIP would definitely be in my top 100, maybe even 50... So, I do love it. Still enjoying Rented World slightly more.

OTIP is definitely one of my favorite albums. If I had to rank their releases it would probably be like this, with 1 and 2 being interchangeable.

1. Rented World
2. OTIP
3. Hold On, Dodge (EP)
4. Chamberlain Waits
5. A Lesson In The Abuse of Holy Shit This Is A Long Album Title

That's identical to how I'd rate their releases, as well.

The small yet loud backlash against Rented World is pissing me off to no end.

Unfortunately that's a common thing after bands release a somewhat critically acclaimed album, regardless of the quality of the follow-up. People get their expectations up beyond belief because of their love and nostalgia for said album, only to be disappointed because they don't have the same nostalgia and memories attached to its follow-up. Also, they're not even giving it proper time to grow, which can make all of the difference. I don't let my love for an album get in my way of properly judging its successor.

This video is as great as people have been saying it is

I think it's a pretty good album.  Most people seem to enjoy it, so just ignore the naysayers. :P I'm hopefully going to be seeing them in July.  Lemuria are attached to that tour, which makes me even more eager to go.

Same for me. The only album that I've ever judged based on it's predecessor has been 21sr Century Breakdown, and that's only because it's similar in many ways to American Idiot. OTIP and Rented World though...the same can't be said about these two equally excellent albums.

Also that video is pretty great hahaha

The band has even said they weren't trying to match the success of OTIP with Rented World. They're like apples and oranges, you can't really compare them because they're supposed to be so different from each other! That being said, OTIP was a grower for me when it first came out and so is Rented World so far but I'm sure it's going to be in my top five albums this year.

"This sucks! They need to make another Chamberlain Waits!"

I couldn't be prouder of the dudes. I'm not sure anything could stop their momentum at this point.

It's funny how many times they've had to answer that question in interviews. I'm glad that they're level headed though and not reacting to the success they've had.

The Chamberlain Waits comments are the most annoying to me. Actually, scratch that, the cries that Rented World "isn't perfect" take the cake.

Anything from Hold On, Dodge could get a person into this band. It's so damn good. Lilith Avi was a religious experience for me

I finally got the new album, and I love it already! It's hit me more immediately than OTIP did when I first got that, so that a good sign

I think the new album has finally grown on me, considering it hasn't left my car's CD player in over a week  still can't decide if I like it better than OTIP, but I really do love it.

I saw them last week in NY. The show was great. They played a good variety of songs, the only one they didn't play that I was hoping for was I Can't Seem to Tell. The crowd was so energetic and reacted well to all the new songs they played from Rented World.

Annnndddd I just got tickets to see them play with The Bouncing Souls and Ted Leo in Asbury Park in July  :runaround:

I saw them last night and they exceeded my expectations. It was nice that pretty much everybody there was singing along to pretty much every song, as well. Glad they're getting the love they deserve. Lemuria was fantastic as well and now I've fallen in love with them all over again.
