I noticed that in this picture, the BJ electrical tape stuff is almost completely gone.

I'm not sure if it's the original Blue though. I still don't know how to recognize if it's the real Blue or a copy.

Well, no tape on the world would stick there for 20+ years, when it's used every day. i'm sure he re-taped the BJ thing :)

i think you can identify if it's the original one by the color of the different parts - especially the neck.

All the replicas he played back int he late 90s were all by fender and the neck was obviously newer, not as dark and used as the original one.

but the bis question is if he have a better replica made, because if you have got enough money 'they' can make you everything.

i think that question will be unanswered for ever.

Yeah, I know tape won't stick forever, but I was just wondering if then this was the old one because of the tape being off and all. And is it? Because I really wouldn't recognize it to the neck xD

okay, I'm sorry if this doesn't make any sense, I kind of lost my point. If there ever was a point.

Obviously Billie Joe has hundreds of guitars, and we all know Blue, but what are his other ones?!

I'm going through a guitar phase :o and my dad said he'd get me a new one for my birthday, and i really want one like Billie's :woot:

I know he names them, so if you know could you add them please?! :happy:

I'M SORRY IF THIS THREAD HAS ALREADY BEEN STARTED- BUT IN MY DEFENCE, I DID SEARCH IT FIRST :lol:

All the replicas were either destroyed or given away, I think.

Edit: here is the link to his post

i hate to bring this discussion back in, but i just remembered billie played blue for 21st CB in may.

here is the very first picture i took during the concert when he played the first chord.

<img src="http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r29/poldifreak/SNC18430Medium.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

or i also have <a href="

target="_blank">a proshot-video</a> here

in this picture you can see that blue has a rosewood fretboard. but billie's original blue has a maple fretboard

so i guess that's a replica OR he changed the neck

Most rosewood fretboards don't have black fret markers. It's still maple, but since the finish has worn off the maple got all grungy and dark.

It's originally Daphne Blue, but it has turned green-ish over the years after extensive use.

Over time the clear coat that they sprayed on top of the blue paint has aged, and yellowed. Which makes the guitar look greenish.
