They sound good so far, haven't had much time to listen to them yet. I made a cd for my car - it's cute that they all fit on one disc!
Re Jason - I love I'm a Mess - it's in my iTunes top 25!

up in arms is such a beautiful song. i get lost, and i sort of feel melancholy during the song for some strange reason.

Have you heard the story behind the song? I think we discussed it somewhere in this thread. But it had tragic inspiration, so it's a testament to Jason's songwriting that it makes you feel melancholy.

To Anybody is quickly becoming another favourite.

These songs are all so chill. In a way they'd be great stoner songs  I can really see myself lazing on some beach somewhere just listening to them.

I've always had a weak spot for Taking Time. "There's so much more that's yet to come/That's where I'm at anyway" This is my happy music.

I put my iPod on the other day and listened to all of Some of the Young 3 times through. It's such a beautiful album.

Oh wow. I was going through all their lyrics, and only just noticed that "some of the young" is actually mentioned in Life And Life Only. Why didn't I notice that before?

You dork, they obviously didn't just pull the name out of their asses. It's a great song to choose the album title from.

You never know, they could've. But it was a bit of a blonde moment.

So did Billie ever actually join the band? I know he played bass for a while but was he just filling in or had he actually fully joined?

I don't know very much about it, but he played with them for a few shows. There are some pictures on their website of him with a bass.

Okay, there's only one picture.

So I don't know. Maybe he was just filling in one day for some reason. But I'm sure I can remember reading somewhere that it wasn't just a fill-in thing.

This. So much. I downloaded their songs last year but didn't really start listening to them properly until last month - the Jason solo show triggered it - and now I can't stop listening to them!

Favorites: Life and Life Only, Legions of Their Lame, Time To Kill and Taking Time.

For the longest time I thought that song was called "Some of the Young".

Hey gang. Willie from the Influents here. Don't usually do this stuff but someone set me a link to this and I guess a combination of nostalgia and reading all your love for the band just made me want to say THANKS!

Agreed! Anarchist makes my super short list of favorite songs of all time. Those records were two of the most important of my teenage years.
