American Idiot Musical (Theatrical Production)

11,344 posts in this topic
I think the dialog is a big deal - it has to come up to the standard of Billie Joe's shit-hot lyrics. One of the things I find off-putting with musicals is that the dialog is usually lame, it just links the songs but doesn't connect with them. For this to be all that it should be, that connection needs to be seamless. Taking all of that into account - just imagine Jesus of Suburbia filling up a stage with a whole chorus, wow!!

Completely agree! It's all running through my head as I try to imagine what it could be like. And as you say ... wow!!

I don't see this making enough money for it to be an issue, to be honest

Oh. THAT must by why Warner isn't fooling with it, it doesn't matter to them lol They don't see it as a threat...

I hope this becomes HUGE... greedy bastids.

Though truly I think it's awesome :) I figured they'd do something like this with AI eventually, it's got too great of a story there not to.

I hope the tickets aren't too expensive. I highly doubt they'll be cheap though.

it sound like this play is going to be fruity

as much as I cringe to even think about AI being turned into a play I know if it was playing near me I would still go see it. and what the hell is warner smoking that they won't let GD release HLAHG, but will approve of this play?

Yeah... On one hand I love AI and I think this could be cool. On the other hand, it did come out in 04 and it seems like maybe they should just leave it as the awesome cd that it is. I think that making it a musical would be almost.... overdoing it? :/

WTFNO.

It's almost too unnecessary to handle.
