I was really really angry when I watched the series finale. I've come more to terms with it but I still have a lot of feelings that you guys have all expressed pretty well. The plot holes in that episode were countless.

oh my god.

It reminds me of how in The Dark Knight Rises it was never explained how Bruce Wayne got from that pit in the middle of nowhere and back to Gotham in like five hours. I'm usually not the pickiest when it comes to that kind of thing, but I don't get how people can ignore such ridiculous, glaring plot holes.

Just finished season 4. It was really good but I'm so mad at how it ended.

Okay I'm done watching it. The last season was the weakest, in my opinion, and the finale was just absurd. But overall, the whole thing was great.

Has anyone read the books the show's based on?

No but I will love to. I heard that only the first series is based on the books.

The last season wasn't so bad. it had some great  moments but in the last episode -

I've read the first book and, to be honest, I had to force myself to finish it. It actually differs quite a lot from the series. I wonder what my impression whould have been if I had read the book before watching the show.

What did you think of it? I have it in my to-read list.

I was disappointed. I blame watching the show first and it made me realise how good it was. As I said earlier, I wonder what I'd think of it if I'd read the book first. I only read Darkly Dreaming Dexter, which covers season one. It's quite short which means it's a lot less detailed than the show. And some plot twists happen a lot faster than in the show, which, to be honest, I found quite annoying :P

If you're interested those are the biggest defferences I can remember

I had to read the first book for a class a couple years ago and I was kind of disappointed, too. All the characters felt really one-dimensional.

I just finished watching season 6. Don't really know what to think of Debra finding out about Dexter's secret. =/ Actually, I would have preferred if they had ventured a little more into the direction of her being in love with Dexter. I always thought they had a bit of a weird relationship considering they're brother and sister.

Just watched all 8 seasons of this show in the last month. I still have not recovered fully from the season 4 finale. That was shocking, I was so angry and depressed for about a week after i watched it. Overall it is a great series. Season 1-4 were the best, season 5 - 6 were good, season 7 - 8 were poor when compared with the other seasons.
