The Doctor probably just assumed that Gallifrey managed to escape their pocket universe. Either way, he'd still go an have a look.

Yeah, I suppose we don't really know all the workings of time locks, and he probably would jump at any opportunity to find Gallifrey.

That feels more like an extra scene than an ending, because we don't actually see where Gallifery's meant to have ended up in the scene.

I prefer the original ending anyway, it's much more fun being stabbed repeatedly in the heart :P

So, the Christmas Special will be called "Last Christmas". Maybe that means the future ones won't be gimmicky Christmas-themed shit?

Meh, it's probably just a title that notes Santa's involvement.  Like, if Santa turns out to be an alien/gets killed by an alien, it'll be the Last Christmas! Oh Noes.

Also apparently there's going to be a female writer for an episode next series, which some people might be interested in.  http://www.denofgeek...eries-9-episode

I bet Santa has been taken over by an imposter Santa or something... just going from the Children in Need clip, there seemed to be something dodgy afoot... :shifty:

You know that bit at the end of The Empty Child where Dr. Constantine's face turns into a gas mask? Yeah, that's still creepy as fuck nine years on.

I still can't watch it, it's so awful. It makes me gag for some reason like I can't breathe, it's so fucked up.

Starting to watch the 8th series with my family, and my dad says Deep Breath is one of his all time favorite Who episodes. Thought that was cool.

Very excited for Last Christmas. I've adored all of Moffat's xmas specials.

I normally can't do faces at all (when Toby got The Beast's writing on him and those diseased people in New Earth are the only episodes I've ever not wanted to see again), but for some reason I was perfectly fine with that.

To be honest, I think most, if not, all of the Christmas specials have been a bit crap. The first one with David Tennant was alright. The End of Time was alright, and so was the Next Doctor, but none of them have been very good. This one doesn't look like being any better.

Christmas specials are invariably a bit disappointing because the story HAS to be shoehorned into the holiday season somehow. It doesn't necessarily flow from a creative space, it has to fit into a box.
