When I first saw the tracklisting for FOAM I thought "Teenage Teenager" was a really dumb title and while it's not the best, Billie explaining how it's inspired from old movies like I was a Teenage Werewolf puts it into better context.

I agree. The negative reviews seem to be missing the point that GD was going for a party them on this record. Everything is sort of goofy and loose. A lot of the negative reviews are missing this deliberate choice and calling it "cringe."

Yeah, I figured that out.

Can't help but think it would have been better if Billie was a Teenage Alien instead.

As it is, he was a Teenage Medium.

If you make a petition I will be down to sign it. Who is familiar with those kind of things? Do it please. I want full album live

I made one really quick. I'll probably edit it to make it legit™ when I got time. Right now it's shit, but it's a start I guess lol.

Petition to have Green Day play FOAM in its entirety on their upoming tour

Oddly, Sugar Youth has two uploaded videos on YouTube. I was wondering why the views were so low, but this must be why...they are split.

I have been listening to it everyday at least 2-3 times and I think I need a break from it.  It has excellent replay value, but it's all I have listened to driving and it's time for a change of pace.

It also makes me flip other drivers off which isn't good. Haha

Same here but with Order In Decline by Sum 41. This CD is playing in my car since his release. I love it but I can't stand it at the same time anymore 😂

There was that study that said Green Day's music is dangerous to listen to while driving...seems like that's accurate 🤔

Ever since Graffitia came out I thought it reminded me of this song for a bit, not exactly musically, but it gives me the vibes (obviously Green Day are far less openly political) but here it is, an excuse to share a Billy Bragg song in this thread

I definitely get you, I even hear similarities in the music to be honest, but yeah the vibes are definitely similar here.

There's a bit of a melody in there, but small enough for me to not consider it a problem, if anything, it's a homage :P

I think it's also a pretty big homage to I Fought the Law, even though that's a much faster song.

It is. I sounds like a mix of I Fought The Law and Bankrobber to me. Definitely the most Clash-sounding GD song.

"Junkies" has some really deep lyrical alley ways.

When Billie asks what hides in shadows, the title is his answer to himself.

Even the line about Pornography ties in with the theme of addiction.

I'm still trying to wrap my mind around how sad this song is.   The only bit of hope is his mama telling him not to follow, and the only humor is the kool-aid line.   But not even sure either of those are really all that positive.   He smashes his fingers while running from his mother I guess.   And I don't know WHAT he and the Kool-Aid guy were up to, but it wasn't good!

Also, the numbers throughout the booklet.   WHAT DO THEY MEAN?

Oh. Didn't realize that.

As a white hetero french canadian I don't always understand songs at my first few listen.

And there are still a lot of english expression that I don't get.
