Recommended Posts

Just wanted to move the stats for this song to its own post (rather than being updated in the FOAM post) so they don't get lost.

First week-

Hot Rock Songs - #9

Rock Airplay - #27

Alternative Songs - #28

Rock Digital Song Sales - #6

Mainstream Rock Songs - #29

Currently-

Hot Rock Songs - #24 (#9 last week)

Rock AirPlay - #16 (#27 last week)

Alternative Songs - #15 (#28 last week)

Adult Alternative Songs - #37 (uncharted last week)

Mainstream Rock Songs - #21 (#29 last week)

Rock Digital Song Sales - Not charting (#6 last week)

Thanks to @Zebahar for posting these.

seems to be going in the right direction

digital song sales is pointless for GD they're actually one of the only bands that actually moves more physical copies but also rock isn't really single based it's always been an art form that moved full albums

I don't why there are so many charts with such similar titles. How does a song drop 15 positions on a "hot rock" song list but jump up 13 places on an alternative list. Do some take into account different types of data?

Yeah, it's a bit confusing, I don't get the point of having that many different charts either. But yes, as far as I know, they do take different things into consideration. For example, the alternative songs chart is based solely on radio airplay. Mainstream Rock is also about airplay, but only on stations that are focused on rock music, not alternative. And some charts also take streaming and sales into consideration. At least that's how I think it works.

All I care about is alternative songs though. I read that they need two more no. 1's to match the RHCP's record of 13 no 1's and I want them to do that 😂. Also, I think it's the most relevant one.

Hot Rock is all inclusive, Alternative is just radio play. You can see in the Digital Sales chart that nobody's buying the song after the first week, and I'd assume streaming is down too.

Nobody buys songs at all anymore really. #1 on iTunes translates to maybe one or two thousand purchases.

It’s funny that the album seems to be quickly falling off the charts, but both FOAM and Oh Yeah have enjoyed some consistency on the charts.

Seems easy to have a top-10 rock single nowadays.

Alternative is more relevant than rock. It’s not doing well on rock charts but is on alternative.
