It's the Monopoly board you've always wanted. I made one of these in 2010 but it wasn't this exciting. Because this time, you can actually play it!

HQ files of everything you need can be downloaded here.

Since I could only fit on 8 sets, I went around the board in order of commercial success. The trilogy and RevRad still make appearances, though!

This is just for fun, so it’s 100% free to use. If you think you’ll get a lot of use out of it, I’d really appreciate you buying me a coffee for £3 / $4 on Ko-Fi (click the link). Thank you!

What you need

  • Dice
  • 20x20 inch card or an old Monopoly board
  • Extra card for pieces, or pieces from another Monopoly board
  • Printer (you can use a library or photo printing service if you don’t have your own)
  • Scissors
  • Glue or tape
  • Patience

How to play

Green Day Monopoly plays like any other Monopoly board. You can find the rules online. Its equivalents are:

  • Stations - venues
  • Utilities - greatest hits
  • Free parking - seat in the middle of the road
  • Houses - instruments
  • Hotels - stages
  • Chance Cards - Somewhere Now
  • Community Chest Cards - Forever Now

How to make the board

  • Get a piece of 20x20 inch card or an old Monopoly board.
  • The board is separated into six images. Save and print each individually. They are A4 sized, but will still print on non-UK printers.
  • Glue or tape the printed images onto your board. They will overlap so you might need to trim or move them around to get it right.

Tips

  • Make sure you’re printing at full size.
  • If you don’t have a printer at home, most libraries offer printing facilities.
  • You can also get it printed by a reprographics or photo printing service, either as four images or a 20x20 print.

How to make Somewhere Now & Forever Now cards

Option 1 (for faster printing)

  • Print fronts and backs of cards double sided.
  • Cut the printed cards out.

Option 2 (for stronger cards)

  • Get some cardboard (any is fine since you’ll be covering it all up) and cut it into card-sized rectangles.
  • Print fronts and backs of the cards separately.
  • Cut them out.
  • Glue them onto each side of the cut cardboard.

Tips

  • Make sure you’re printing at full size.
  • To make cards family friendly, scribble out or censor the swear words. You could always replace them with “WOO” like It’s F-Woo Time.

How to make figures, instruments (houses) and stages (hotels)

You can use figures, houses and hotels from another Monopoly board. But if you want to keep it all Green Day themed…

  • Get some cardboard (again, any is fine since you’ll be covering it all up).
  • Print out the provided images, or your own if you’d prefer something else.
  • Cut the images out and glue them onto your cardboard. Allow glue to dry.
  • Leaving a rectangle about half the length of the image below, cut the image out from the cardboard.
  • Fold the rectangle over to allow the figure to stand.

I love the little details like the In Jail photo 😂

That and the "you're too old to be misbehaved, get out of jail free" card are my favourites

If I can help at all feel free to ask! :D I'd offer to make it for you but I'm not convinced it wouldn't look incredibly clumsy :P
