Mega Man
Here's a topic for the obsessive Green Day fan: how many of the images from Winston Smiths collage for Insomniac (God Told Me to Skin You Alive) have been found? I'll start with what I know: The praying Uncle Sam is from an illustration featured on a prayer written by Conrad M. Hilton: The subliminal skull in the flames is taken from Hans Holbein the Younger's 1533 painting, The Ambassadors (Wikipedia has a MASSIVE resolution image of it): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Hans_Holbein_the_Younger_-_The_Ambassadors_-_Google_Art_Project.jpg The central figure of the composition was the man from Jan van Eyk's 1434 painting, The Arnolfini Portrait: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Van_Eyck_-_Arnolfini_Portrait.jpg Here's some more info on Smith's process: https://rockpopgallery.typepad.com/rockpop_gallery_news/2007/05/cover_story_gre.html Anyways, I'm sure it's a long shot because most of the imagery looks to be dated from the 50s, but I figured I'd give it a shot. I think the next most likely source to uncover is the live image used of Billie Joe used for his arm and guitar.
