Somehow managed to break my laptop screen. How much does getting the screen usually cost, roughly? *bracing myself*

    buy a new one, it's not worth the repair cost at all, it never is.
    What you can du is just hook it up to another screen with HDMI to get all your data on an external disc though. But sadly in my experience, a laptop with a cracked screen is a lost cause :(

    ya when my screen broke i connected it to an external screen and detached the original one

    Thanks, yeah, that's what i ended up doing with our home pc screen cos getting files of the laptop became a pain. 'Tis a pity, didn't even get three years out of it.
