I just find it amazing how one band has resonated so well with me. I was listening to my ipod and "Judge's Daughter" came on. I rocked out and then "X-Kid" came on next. And I proceeded to rock out again. I mean I sincerely love all of their stuff. (Except for a few songs here and there.)
I was just adding through a few of the pages but I was just curious as to anyone's idea about how they would transcribe the musical into a movie? I mean it's obviously going to be different but how much? And in regards to Billies acting in it..I think he will do a good job because unlike the other cameos he did he was given stuff..and like the American Idiot stuff is HIS stuff..I mean he is no Tom Hanks (or insert your favorite actor) but I think he's deccent I mean I think he chose the musician life for a reason guys xD
I think that is a perfect way to describe the "Oh Love" music video...lazy. At least to me, there was nothing unique about it. I also feel Kill the Dj was the same way. It was a very stereotypical, cookie cutter music video. It didn't have that Green Day-esque air to it. I personally don't see how "oh love" fits in with the trilogy...Billie made the comment that Uno was like classic Green Day, but I don't feel that "oh love" had that sound. And I was not pleased at all when they decided for that song to be their first single. It doesn't really encompass the album.
I would agree with A LOT of this. I really think that the trilogy will be swept under the rug. Almost in a sense like Warning was, however, I think this is a bigger blow to them than Warning was. Not that a lot of effort wasn't put into that album, but I think the trilogy was something for THEM. Like they just came off American Idiot and 21st century, really heavy albums, and these albums definitely reach back to their roots, and you can tell they had a fun time writing these 3 fresh new albums. And I would agree about the lyrics as well. I was, for the first time, disappointed in some of their songs. But on the flip side their were some amazing ones! So, you take the good with the bad I guess. However, I have faith that their next album will blow everybody off their feet. No question abut it.
This is just me...but I LOVE when he bleaches his hair! I don't know what it is...but I love when he has his blonde hair..like when he has the blonde and the black mix. But then again he could have any color hair and I would love it! I wonder what he would look like bald.... 0_o
Well I think it would be odd of Billie to say.."yeah, I think Tre is a good drummer.." I mean you got support your band mates..but then again..he doesn't say Mike is the best bassist around..hmmm. But nonetheless, I don't think the comment is arrogant in anyway, and if he think Tre is the best drummer then he is totally entitled to his opinion..and not a bad opinion to have if you ask me
My unpopular opinion of Green Day...
I really don't like 21st Century Breakdown. Like at all. Despite all of his instance of the characters, Christian and Gloria, I don't see the story. The only thing I see are the random mentions of their names in the songs. The whole thing felt forced and fell flat to me.
Tre was built up to lead to an overall disappointment. "Epic?" No. There are certain gleams of good songs like X-Kid and Missing You, but overall, it was ok. I definitely wanted a stronger ending to the trilogy. And the comparison of "Dirty Rotten Bastards" to a Jesus of Suburbia/Homecoming was grossly misinterpreted. I felt the different sections between DRB did NOT go together at all. Very disjointed and random. And the lyrically content was just not there. Really felt no connection to the songs like I usually do.
I don't want to have any "expectations" because it seems like those lead to disappointment, however 1) if they DON'T do the "hey, oh's" it shall no longer be considered a Green Day concert. It really is their trademark. And yeah, it's predictable. But don't tell me you don't "hey, oh" back to Billie. and 2) I really hope they still have *some* fan participation. Those few moments where Billie pulls someone on stage can really change someone's life!..I know it would change mine..a girl can only dream!
I'm curious as to what their set was going to look like. I know that Mike said in his most recent interview that they weren't going to rely so much on pyro and more on "rock and roll lighting.." whatever that refers to...but like is there going to be a bunch of x's on the stage or what >.<
