Have taken a liking to playing bass lately. It's nice that the Rocksmith game I got will let me plug in my guitar & play bass parts, I just have to go in settings and click "Emulate Bass". I'm realizing it's a lot easier than guitar too. But it's useful to learn groove & rhythm with bass that you may not pick up on immediately with playing guitar.
Mine's coming along slowly but I'm improving. For me, the hardest part is the beginning of my song and getting into the right rhythm. If I can get that down, the rest will flow nicely. I'm trying out the rhythm guitar for this: http://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/smashing-pumpkins-cherub-rock-tab-s18072t1
I'm pretty new to guitar; I've only been playing since November of last year. I had gotten a guitar for my birthday back in 2010 with a case, strap, picks, amp, and extra strings. I tried to teach myself but that didn't go over so well. I didn't bother with it until recently when I heard about School of Rock (not the movie, I mean an actual school of rock.) They teach guitar, bass, keyboard\piano, vocal, and drums there and have programs for both adults and kids. Anyway, I checked them out and love it. All the teachers\staff and kids\students are rad and I've really picked up on how to play and everything. I'm still very much a beginner, but I know the basics and just recently completely learned my first song (Today by Smashing Pumpkins.) I'm a lefty player and actually got a pretty guitar for being such. This one's mine:
I was walking downtown today and as I was just looking around, I saw painted in big white letters on the upper side of a brick building "JIMY" (yeah, missing an "M" I know.) It was in the Green Day breakdown-graffiti-style font and everything. I wish I had my iPod on me then so I could've taken a picture of it.
I made these a few weeks ago. I had these old black wristbands just laying around and I thought I'd put em' to good use by turning them into GD & FBHT wristbands. I made stencils out of paper, pinned them onto the wristbands, painted the stencils with acrylic paints, and viola! I'm pretty happy with how they turned out and they glow in the dark too.
