This fucking goes against everything that Green Day stands for and isn't that why we're all here? As a COMMUNITY that share a common love?? What the fuck. Thank you, mods, for taking care of business. To all newbies out there, don't be intimidated by fuckfaces like those involved. 99% of us are pretty fucking cool.

er, why can't sigs be the default and if people are having trouble they can disable them, not the other way around? i'm pretty sure most people don't have issues with them.

I reported him as a spammer and he's been given a verbal warning.

You guys are trying to conflate two issues to try and justify one or the other. The mod team banned Jizz because we were tired of the way she treated other members, both here and on other social media. It wasn't one single thing that led the decision, it was a combination of things. We finally just had enough of trying to hold her hand, then smacking it and telling her "stop being a bitch". Just because we banned her doesn't mean that all is forgiven or that people are suddenly going to stop thinking badly of her. Especially when she's gone out of her way to say some really fucking mean things to individuals. Of course people shouldn't be going out and trying to shit all over her now, but that's what happens so long as her friends continue to do this faux-memorial of losing her as a member. People will continue to be say mean shit because they don't like her or like that you guys are making any kind of deal out of her being gone. Are people hypocrites, yup. But that doesn't mean anything in the context of us removing ask.fm accounts. We're not just banning some people or a group of people from using them, we're banning everyone. Because many of you, not one side or the other, like to be assholes, then like to drag that shit back to GDC. It's a problem when people think it's ok to take things people say here, things they express out of comfort within the community while looking for advice or just looking to be honest here, only to have someone take that shit to another site to make fun of them. We consider that an abuse of your membership in our community, and that's the type of stuff that helped led us to make the decision we have.

Your profile said you were 14 until about an hour ago...

Aww, no. I really preferred Words I Might Have Ate. I sort of feel like that and blogs should be kept as two separate things, I dunno if I really want to post things like stories on the front page. That's just me though, most people probably feel differently.

Ehh, I dunno if I could handle that much power.

Really bugs the shit out me when people say shit like that. People like to say stuff like that to seem above it all, when in reality many people here have met friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, or just found a community that helped them get through something. Don't try to belittle that for someone else to try and feel good about yourself.

I can see this ending well.

If Iain has gone to the trouble of writing this to explain his feelings, I think it's not enough to tell him to expect it because it's the internet. The forum is full of real people, each with their own emotions. Sometimes venting your feelings helps on it's own, just getting it all out. I hope that's the case for you, Iain, but if you continue to be unhappy with your experiences here I would suggest you PM an admin and talk to them about it. I really hope you feel much happier very soon.

10 bucks = Nudes of the entire mod team. 50 bucks = mod team + staff group nudie. 100 bucks = all of the above + oil.

Andres, we need to talk. I WANT MY FUCKING LIKE-COUNTER-THINGIE BACK!

Andres said, it took them more than two weeks from the first complaint. And they apparently only took the appropriate measure after the shitstorm in the Secrets Thread. Which is why he is apologizing. But no, they didn't handle it well. I'm not saying it was bad intent, but a situation where there was no one in the team apparently with alarm bells ringing, hinting that this was a drop dead serious situation. I guess, they all know now.

What will this mean for the 'rate the signature above you' thread?

You just don't want us on other sites do you Andres?

Actually, Andres, I think you're thinking too utopian. The fact that there are so many sub-forums, and people have splintered into groups of friends of similar interests marks this is a large, functioning community. It's less a forum, more a small town. To me the fact that the wider community breaks down into smaller factions is a sign of it's success, and is the natural evolution of all large groups of people who co-exist. It is a very human response to lots of people all being in one place. We all come here for one thing - Green Day, but we stay here because you maintain the framework for all of us to express our own individualities. To some people here who struggle to be confident enough to express themselves in real life, this place is a lifeline. It's a place where no one really judges, and everyone cares. If GDC became more streamlined, I think it would kill part of the attraction of the place. Society isn't streamlined. GDC is a society. It's the flaws of a society that mark it for it's greatness. I mean, fuck, democracy is the most flawed way of running a country you could imagine, yet it persists because it allows for personal expression without limitation (within reason) and that is what makes this place rock. Sure, GDA does need some physical maintenance in terms of the things you mention, but there's not much wrong with GDC. If there was, the people using it would be fierce in making it known. I know it's your baby, but it's grown up and has it's own personality now. I think you gotta let it fly and develop rather than try to control it.

I feel like I am the only person left who does not remotely give a shit how well a band's album performs on the charts, how well it sells, or where it is promoted. All that matters to me is the music. If Green Day sold 100 million copies, or just 100, I'd not care in the slightest either way.
