I like how you put me as an example how to silence a user

Dearest Londres, I have a suggestion. Apply a default setting to member accounts, adding a certain squawking troll to everyone's ignore list. Let him talk to himself. Trial it for a month or so, you can all thank me later.

I second what Marki and Alex said. I would also like to add that I can only associate the name Shahd with intelligence, kindness and internet friendTM since you are the only one I know with that name. Your sadness isn't you, Shahd. You are, however, the supportive, nice and amazing person I am proud to have met here on this forum. Please don't hesitate to hit me up when you feel down or if you just want to talk. I truly enjoy talking, but I'm too awkward to actually take matters into my own hands.

Well, the first word starting with "h" that comes to mind is "happy", and you have two of those there, breaking up the "sad"... I hope you'll escape it soon <3 (and btw, you have really nice handwriting!)

I'm a more private person now. I've learned that shit you say four years ago will still get brought up, especially when you get promoted to global mod

You brave motherfucker. You know the CAH team are always here (and I’m on twitter like, 24/7, so there’s that too.) you got this. <3

You're amazing Liam. I know you can get through this! You fucking go u fuck! <3

Wow, hello. I know I don't *know* know you but obvs you know I love you really () and I just think this is brave af. I know sharing things with your internet family can be really therapeutic but kicking down that door and telling actual family/friends and having a stranger dig through your mind sounds super scary. I hope writing helps make it easier when the time comes and that the therapy will help you figure things out. Meanwhile I for one will be happy to read and play CAH and y'know, for real, see you in Glasgow (or wherever) u fuck

I guess the problem with fansites now is that people just cba to leave their social media feeds to read it. People like reading updates on a site they're already on I suppose. Personally though, I like the way you guys post news; often with context and links to related/previous news. It's professional and I don't really know how it can be improved. I guess more people would help with the speed. But at the same time I reckon because of GDC you're often first to find out certain things, or pick up on some clue to an imminent announcement before anyone else. I really am in awe of how long this place has been going though. I joined in 06 and have been off and on, and it's just really reassuring to know it's still here.

We know where our bread's buttered. That is all. Edit: Not to mention that my Twitter feed has turned into a giant cesspool of Trump-infused doom. Cutting back on the cycles I spend there, burning a few more here. Life's happier that way.

I have to say, reading through your last post and seeing these made me want to visit Hamburg Such a nice collection of photos (I love photographing cities)!

Just because you say 'no offence' before you say something shitty doesn't make it less shitty. If you have a problem with a mod you can PM someone on the team and it will be discussed.

I'd be honored to be a part of that squad <3 I'll send you a GDC dream. I have a lot of those

Thanks @Andres and @Lone for making me the offer (again), might've taken me a while but I'm so pleased to accept it! Looking forward to it. And thanks for all the kind words

I strongly condemn these petty acts of vandalism when these people could instead be spending their energy productively by causing serious bodily harm to nazis.

Best thing you can do is use the Sky News method. Get the breaking news out there as a Tweet, status, IG post and an attached short 50 word story that is easily shareable and then just update it later when you have more time/information/clarity. It means you can keep pace with and on social media with the demand for single line headlines and essence of any given story and means you're free to expand on it in detail and with qualit without pressure to be the first to pump it out there.

A couple of thoughts occurred to me based on this: 1 - How many other bands or artists had viable forums in their fandom history? How many still exist? I can recall being a part of 4 different GD forum spaces during my "prime" as a developing fan. But I never had this experience with any other artist except maybe for one. Perhaps I don't know how to locate central fan sites? Maybe I was never interested in doing so? This gives me a lack of perspective on whether GD's forum existence was and is unique to them/us, or simply seems that was because of my exclusivity with it. 2 - GDC is extremely active in comparison to even the "official" forum. I have tried a number of times to get into being on the Idiot Club forum, but it never interests me and I think that largely has to do with how little activity is there in comparison. Topics are basic and replies aren't frequent if you really look at it. I don't know what my point is with pointing this out, other than to show a reason I feel like I still come here. You made a good place, Andres. And I love that I've been around to watch it ebb and flow for a decade.

I agree about Reddit, it's very impersonal and that puts me off ' talking to people on GDC is much more fun. I'm not much into social media - I've got instagram but don't post much and Facebook which I visit occassionally. I'm totally hooked to this forum though.

I have some questions. If you get this upset over the little things, what will your reaction be when it is something serious? And something serious happens in every relationship. Jealousy is one of the the, if not the most dangerous feeling in a relationship. My question is this, if you are this jealous, how much do you really trust him? Also, if you really think that he would be interested in a 16 year old (16 will get you 20) is he really the person you thought he was? I have been married for 23 years and with my husband for 28. We have had some knock down, drag out fights but I have never, in the 28 years that I have known him been jealous. I have been there when women came on to him, I have been there when men came onto him but I always knew how he felt about me and I trusted his feelings and his judgement. I don't know alot about your fiancee but you have said things before that makes me think he is trustworthy. Why would you question it now?

You're strong and awesome and funny and I'm not only speaking for myself when I say that we're always here for you WHENEVER you need to rant or whatever. You strong fuck. You can do this. I really like to imagine that you're part of our internet squad (@Billie Hoe and I talked about this) and I'm glad you started posting! The closest I've had to dreaming about someone on GDC is you dreaming that I dreamt about someone on GDC... That's sad!
  40. 3 points
Yes, you will. Those two H can't be meaningless. They're part of you. "Sad" is totally different from "Shahd". It's nothing more than a coincidence. Find the meaning to your Hs. I'm sure you won't be Shahd anymore.

That's genius Seriously, good job! I love the form - leaving the numbers in front of each line makes it even better. It must be even more impressive when read aloud in Italian (I wish I could understand it like that though )

Glad that you loved it, I'm really happy for you. What you write makes me remember my first GD show (or basically: every GD show I saw so far) so clearly. The hearts of GD fans beat the same Enjoy those feelings, no one can take them away from you anymore!

I love how GDC feels not just like a community, but kind of like a family! It's really cool to come online and see that other people are always online when you are. It's nice that we all share (well, most of us share - you know who you are!!!) a common interest and love for all things Green Day. It's nice that we also have advice threads and things like that where you can share your thoughts and ask questions and talk about them with people who are going through/have gone through similar experiences. In short, GDC is a safe place for a lot of us and I am guaranteed laughs, great threads and great people each and every time I come online!!
  47. 3 points
Have you SEEN those Green Day groups/pages/events on Facebook? No way. Never again. #GDC4life
  48. 3 points
I'm involved in three main fandoms and the way I engage is different in each one, which is kinda fascinating to me. Outside GDC, I rarely see Green Day things on the social media I visit (as a result I was pretty out of the loop during the years I didn't visit this place). This is really the only place I can discuss my favourite band with others; on twitter it feels like I'm yelling into the void I got one fandom that I mostly engage with via Tumblr, and one fandom that is so small now that it's gone from a single thread on a wider forum to just friends in a Facebook chat group. And it's cool because I can visit the specific places to talk about things I love depending on which one is occupying my mind these days (and since August it's mostly been Green Day lol) And I don't get reddit at all. It just seems like a big wall of text to me, I can't really make sense of it! GDC is really unique - the people here come here specifically to have discussions (whereas you get the feeling the Idiot Nation forum members only post because they paid for a membership and feel they have to).
