  1. I absolutely agree with what you said about OY, I can connect to it on a very deep level too. But I have to strongly disagree about RevRad lyrics being "cringe shit" šŸ˜› I personally think RevRad had some of Billie's most personal and honest lyrics ever and at least for me also some of his best. If you look at it closely, it's even written like a diary to document Billie's self-reflection of the (post-)rehab times. It ranges from getting used to an everyday-life routine again ("How did a life on the wild side ever get so dull?") to dealing with and processing your worst fears ("Are you scared to death to live?") to finally discovering new perspectives in life and being grateful for them ("How did a life on the wild side ever get so full?"). That is fucking genious, man. I think it's impossible to interpret RevRad without this very personal history, and that's why it never really got the credit it deserved. I feel like reviewers always reduced it to its political message to compare it with AI, but they failed at working out the core message. I think RevRad was a very important record for them to get back on track, it was like a self-therapy, and you could see and feel it back then; I've never seen the boys happier and more at peace with the world and themselves. So it's okay for you to not like RevRad, but calling it "cringe shit" is just unfair.

  2. I think FOAM gave us some of the greatest GD performances of the last few years. That song live is a total banger, they guys clearly enjoy playing it, and many people who didnā€™t really enjoy the single appreciated the live executions. Not saying that you have to, but I think the song really does its best live. I am curious to see how Oh Yeah! will be arranged live, it has a lot of potential as well IMHO

  3. Trilogy rules. The Trilogy kicks Rev Radā€™s ass so bad. I am pretty sure the Trilogy is still going to kick FOAMā€™s ass even though Iā€™ve only heard three songs. But Green Day is Green Day and Green Day is amazing. My fav band and I am so happy theyā€™re still writing great stuff. I think FOAM will have the fun party atmosphere as intended by the Trilogy but overshadowed by the personal incidents that will not be named. I feel like the band is back on their game and ready for some fun and ready to be the great rocks stars that they are. They are amazing. I think this tour will be a lot of fun. I will definitely be grabbing beers and partying along for this show. I will still time my washroom break for Young Blood especially with all this beer and fun and excitement that I am sure the FOAM tour will bring. Or if cherry cola super nova weakness fucking genius is hopefully dropped from the photocopied set list then I will go to the washroom during the third extended heyyyyy ohhhhhhh set. I donā€™t want to even miss a one heyyy ohh but with parties and fun and comes at least one washroom break.

  5. Was listening to them all in a row today and noticed that FOAM has ā€œcount your money/whatā€™s so funnyā€ and OY doubles down with ā€œgot my money/ainā€™t it funnyā€ So itā€™s either a theme and similar sentiment or he canā€™t think of any more words to rhyme with money šŸ˜œ

  6. In the place of a scar, you get me! Oh, this isn't positivity. Billie has succeeded in making me feel bad/be bad. I want anyone who stands against "Oh Yeah" or the album banished from the forum forever. Now.

  7. Oh No! I'm in a forum full of Matt and @Beerjeezus, I'm looking to leave until May for full listen, Nobody spoil, I want to hear FOAM the first, Reach for the sky with your face in Mike Dirnt. --- Everybody is an oldschool, Got my single but I'm feeling kinda low, Everybody's like a @That Dude, But in May I won't be running out of dope. --- No, oh no, oh no! Listen FOAM in May, listen FOAM in May, No, oh no, oh no! Why I'm torturing myself this way? *Mike sips coffee* - "hehe, we've got him"

  8. Listening to Oh Yeah again and man I haven't felt connected to new Billie Joe lyrics since 2009. As you may know I have been critical of Billie's efforts on writing songs in the trilogy and revrad and this really feels good. I may seem like a hater to most of you since I've been critical for so long but Billie Joe is one of my favorite songwriters ever and I can't stand cringe shit like "my name is Billie and I'm freaking out" it ruins the whole song for me. I really can't wait to listen to the album now and see what else he wrote for this record.

  9. It's just that you have no taste, which is fine because neither does Billie

  10. A little late but Youngblood was great live. Billie has often said he writes a lot with live performances in mind and I think itā€™s clearly one of those songs. sounds like some of you would benefit from pelvic floor excercises if you need to pee so much šŸ˜†

  11. Try listening to all three songs at insane volume while dancing around. It's a serious calory burner and you will then love all the songs.

  13. GDA, we need some polls! Who is excited about Father of All coming out? Do you like the new single, Oh Yeah? The polarization is getting rough. Let's see some percentages!

  14. So my 1000 post was Kevin spanking Billie. My 1500 was Kevin biting Billie. And now for my 2000 (the Dominated Love Slave level), Kevin straddling Billie.

  15. You all have fun and report back. Iā€™ll be driving to no-mans-land Kansas on Saturday for a family event (I am actually excited about the family thing, just not the 4.5 hr one-way drive.)

  16. Just watched that 10 minute Panicland video on how they done ā€œMagnum Opusā€ and itā€™s genius. Iā€™m glad I was right and they all had you on strings in the beginning. Funny how three teenagers can imitate a better sound than actual Green Day can šŸ˜‚ And donā€™t tell me you disagree because you were all loving the sound of the ā€œleaksā€ when you first heard it. Serious note, hope they release some of their own stuff with a little less vocal imitation of course. Canā€™t be any worse than new Green Day thatā€™s for sure!

  17. If Jeff was a woman, he's still be an asshole. He'd still be an asshole if he was an extraterrestrial entity. I'd like an ambient field recording from Billie's life. Billie's Psychedelic Breakfast. Or Billie's Psychedelic Night at the Golden Bull

  18. I like when it feels deeper and more personal like RevRad and also the Trilogy and FBHT and the Longshot. FOAM so far feels like a critique on modern life and media and not too personal. It is not lazy writing. Itā€™s good. But I just like the personal stuff. I like when itā€™s like a puzzle for us to figure out and when we can relate to the writing on a personal level through shared experiences with the stories and themes of the songs. FOAM is good and I know itā€™s a different level of the evolution of Green Day and thatā€™s great. So glad the band isnā€™t just sitting back and sticking with the formulas they know will work. But personally I love the super personal writing and I am so glad we got the Longshot to hold over until the next deeper record while we have a lot of fun with the FOAM tour. Iā€™m even ok with them not playing Trilogy songs live since weā€™re getting those songs at Longshot shows and more intimate shows. If they did play those at the arena shows that would be mindblowingly cool after all this time and neglect of those songs. Disappointed they werenā€™t on RevRad lists but super happy theyā€™re being played at the Longshot shows and small bar shows.

  24. I'm still wiggered that 3 songs from Rev Rad were never played live in that era. I hope there are no unplayed songs from this album.

  25. Honestly, even the addition of the sticker makes the cover look better coz it means that we see like 1 percent less of this visual abomination. That's honestly the biggest issue I have with this era at this point. The artwork, it's an atrocity. Unlike some of their songs, THIS will never grow on me šŸ˜‚

  26. Butch said in the NAMM interview that Billie really wanted to FOAM to not sound like a typic Green Day album, the theory of troll album is definitely debunked

  28. No way. The Longshot small club and bar shows are priceless. Let the masses go to the hella mega green day stadium tours. But if Green Day could cover FBHT or the Longshot in a stadium once in a while that would also be priceless. And Kevin Preston from the FBHT and Longshot replacing Jeff Matika is so good. Thank goodness for Green Day side projects and working with new people!

  30. Omg what shitty ā€œreportingā€. So dumb. But itā€™s fun that Billie Joe was in a gossip/lifestyle magazine or whatever. That shit is always to be taken at less than face value. Horray for being a rockstar in a gossip mag. Heā€™s a rockstar!

  31. spot on. My Iā€™ve got complaints because I think Billie is a much more talented lyricist than has been shown in recent years, and itā€™s a shame

  33. Yeah well, stop when the red light flash is the French song by Joann Jett, American Eulogy is run away also from JJ, JoS is a mix of ring of fire and summer of 69, and Warning is picture book by the Kinks We could never stop if we start this game, and no record is safe

  35. From a person living with a kidney disease I request lots of pee songs! Realistically though I've seen GD so many times so the rule is if I've seen the song atleast twice live it qualifies as a pee song. There are some exemptions. BOBD is my favourite pee song cause I can sync up the ah-ah ah-ah while I'm voiding.

  39. Oh good. Can't have a Green Day album without some explicit content. Haha. Warning came close, with Minority being the only explicit track. Then there's Uno with Kill the DJ. So many F-bombs given in a single bound. Maybe Sugar Youth will just be back-to-front and sideways curse words.
