  1. I haven’t watched any of the videos yet but reading this, I don’t even want to. Maybe I’m the only one, but if the price for sounding as great as they do right now is that Billie is going down that road again, I’m not ready to pay it. Sober RevRad Billie was perfect enough for me. The bad feeling I had from the very start of this era keeps intensifying, and this doesn’t help. Yeah I know the whole topic is the Voldemort of GDC that mustn’t be named so I’ll leave it at that.

  2. They essentially did. David was on drums, Kevin on guitar and Greg Schneider on bass who maybe has replaced Jeff. So call this Longshot 2.0

  3. Seems to be over now 😂😉 Can we just appreciate his cute little smile? He looks as if he is adoring the slice of pizza.

  4. Watching that 40min Green Day video from above. Here are my thoughts: Billie Joe is definitely hammered in this show. I bet he hasn't been this hammered on live show since iHeart perfomance back in 2012. Hopefully he is still ok. His vocals are so fucking good for almost 50yo man. I love it how those screams just get better year after year. How is it even possible? I also yelled like a motherfucker when I heard Welcome to Paradise back in E Standard tuning, god I fucking love them. Then the final nail in the coffin was Jesus of Suburbia which was actually really huge surprise for me. Setlist for that video: 1. Stop Drop and Roll 2. Father of All 3. Revolution Radio 4. Hitchin' A Ride (which actually wasn't dragged for 10 minutes, maybe they are learning how to cut unnecessary parts from songs?) 5. Welcome To Paradise 6. Burnout 7. Jesus of Suburbia

  5. Jason teased a bit of Broadway after Father of All and then tried to start Platypus after RevRad, but that got shot down pretty quick

  6. Incredible, I didn't expect them to do another super long show after they've seemed to be in favor of cutting it all down

  7. It's the light and they all had moustaches. Mike had a bunch of sharpies with him and was passing them out trying to get everyone to draw them on their face.

  8. You're not the only one. There's no way they sound so good because of That TM, it didn't seem to me that it helped in the past. I'm conflicted. I can't fully enjoy this even though the show is fun and exciting (still need to properly watch the videos), because I've seen this before and it's also been fun back then, until it wasn't and I really don't want that to happen again and that's hard to forget about. At the same time, I believe it's unfair to look at things anyone does and be like "oh I like this if only you were acting in a way I'd like better"...I mean, they sound absolutely amazing, the shows are fun and so far, it doesn't seem like he's badly out of control, so I believe now is the time to enjoy the ride and worry later if there'll be a reason to.

  9. If it helps, despite my reputation here as the GDC worry wart, I can hopefully ease your mind and tell you that to me he did not look that “hammered” either during or after the show in the clips I’ve seen. He was drinking beer steadily but seemed very much in control and no more tipsy than everyone else on the stage. Judge for yourself, but to me the Oakland Coverups show of October of last year was way worse than this. This was not iHeart level drunk by any means.

  10. We definitely need another butt pic. He has his moments during Rev Rad but he’s on a different level of sexy with this era. ❤️❤️❤️ That second pic. And the last two.

  14. It actually looks quite nice This era is one big deja vu but I can't say it's not fun in some way. Trilogy was fun too
    2 points
  15. I would say both. For sure he already has some grey hair but it's not that bad, just light. This definitely feels like trilogy all over again Seeing Billie Joe fucking trashed once in a while is entertaining but hopefully he doesn't drink after or during every show.

  16. Most importantly, is this grey hair or just light? Also what's up with the mustaches, what the fuck!!! Who came up with that
    2 points
  17. Right? Yeah I just hope he's not going down that road again, but glad they are all having fun!😎

  18. Billie looked absolutely smashed for that show, also smoking again, as long as he’s having fun

  24. Kerrang! - of course - have reported on this show: https://www.kerrang.com/the-news/green-day-side-project-the-coverups-have-announced-a-show/ GREEN DAY SIDE-PROJECT THE COVERUPS HAVE ANNOUNCED A SHOW The Coverups will be performing later in the year with their friends in The Interrupters supporting. What a line-up, eh? Before Green Day busy themselves with a jam-packed 2020 – which will include the release of their new album Father Of All…, and the epic Hella Mega Tour – one of the band’s many side-projects have announced a surprise show. The Coverups, whose members include the band themselves as well as many of their alumni, will be performing in the run-up up to Christmas at the Tiki Bar in Costa Mesa, joined by their friends in The Interrupters, plus One Less Zero, Dead Mermaids and Dead Sound. While the band’s line-up has typically included Green Day’s own Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt, news of the gig was actually confirmed by drummer Tré Cool, who wrote in the caption, “Holy shit! I can’t wait!” suggesting he might actually be behind the kit at this particular date. Very interesting… If you’re yet to see what a Coverups show consists of, check this out: Following The Coverups’ gig on December 6, Green Day will be releasing their 13th studio album, Father Of All…, two months later – and it’s a record that the band created in order to “fuck with people”. “Do you want to go back and do the same old thing?” Tré told Kerrang!. “We don’t want to do what everyone would expect us to do, so it was just kinda mischief and making it fun. That was the bottom line of it.” “There’s a very fine line threading the needle for us, because we do want to try new things, but we always want to make sure it’s absolute Green Day, you know?” added Billie Joe. “It’s a very fine line – clever and stupid (laughs). But Green Day’s credo is mischief, no matter what. We’re always down for mischief and we want to fuck with people… to the point of it being abusive!”

  26. Just cause he smoked one (or maybe only a few hits of one) cigarette doesn’t mean he’s a smoker

  27. I LOVE his hair for this show last night. And the sexiness is definitely back. He was pretty reserved during RevRad.

  32. Looks like that Monsters of Rock thing that inspired the Hella Mega tour has been inspired in return. Just saw that Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett are touring together in 2020. Like Hella Mega, they are playing PNC Park in Pittsburgh in August.

  34. Hey- anyone who's going to this. Winston Smith has the original cover art for Insomniac on display at the Haight Street Art Center in SF until December 7th. So if you're flying in or visiting for just a day or two, you'll be just in time to check it out!
