Really hope they keep playing Fancy Sauce and hopefully add it officially to the setlist. Billie gets so into it!9 points

Six years ago today (24 April 2018), The Longshot played The Wayfarer in Costa Mesa. 13 years ago (24 April 2011), the American Idiot musical ended its run on Broadway and Green Day played after the final performance. Some people have probably already read my recap on my personal blog, but I've just transferred it to GDA if you haven't read it yet. More photos: 22 years ago (24 April 2002), Green Day played in Inglewood, CA on the Pop Disaster Tour. 23 years ago (24 April 2001), they appeared on Musique Plus in Montreal to talk about Waiting. And 31 years ago (24 April 1993), Green Day played the Revolver Club in Madrid.8 points

Another pretty special one today. 14 years ago (22 April 2010), American Idiot opened on Broadway. Fun fact: this photo is of the action that inspired the name "Fuck Time." “One of the actors from the American Idiot musical, Theo Stockman, called himself the ‘King of Fuck.' Before every performance the cast got into a circle and shouted: 'One, two, three, it’s fuck time!’ So I named a song after it. We played it as the Foxboro Hot Tubs at Don Hill’s and the song should have stayed there... but then we realised we shouldn’t give It’s Fuck Time away to our alter-ego, but use it for Green Day!” – Billie Joe More photos from the opening night:7 points

Yeah this looks like what could possibly be their tour setlist this summer, dookie, some saviors, ai I could imagine they could switch some songs from show to show, and according to setlistfm it was a 2h10min show, so still 10minutes they could play longer for the european festivals Please keep fancy sauce as closing song And i know dookie and ai in full is epic, but i hope the next tour will have some more love for songs they rarely play live (trilogy songs pleeeeease)7 points

On this day 8 years ago (23 April 2016), Green Day and Joan Jett performed at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Ordinary World. More photos: 14 years ago (23 April 2010), the Foxboro Hot Tubs played at Don Hill's in NYC. I was also looking at some of those setlists the other day and laughed at them playing Fuck Time eight times at the Bowery Electric, but I'd forgotten they outdid that at Don Hill's with nine Fuck Times. More photos: 19 years ago (23 April 2005), Green Day played the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh. More photos:6 points

Special one today. 9 years ago, Green Day were inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. They also played the LA Sports Arena 11 years ago today. The 99 Revolutions Tour was 11 years ago? WHAT?! HELP. 19 years ago, they played the USF Sun Dome in Tampa on the American Idiot Tour. There was a review up at some point, but the links are dead, so all we've got is "Billie Joe Armstrong asserts his personality while performing with Green Day on Monday night before a sold-out crowd." 30 years ago, Green Day played the Satyricon club in Portland.6 points

The venue posted about the 2012 show (and this one) https://www.instagram.com/p/C536D2LP1kb/?igsh=MWhuM2YyY2RjcnNmdg== In 2012 I remember staying up all night waiting for tweets that a GDCer was posting for us from the venue!6 points

That is great. I looked up the setlists of the very Fuck Time heavy New York FBHT shows recently and they're the funniest setlists I've ever seen5 points

It’d be a disservice to humanity to not play Coma City on the summer tour.5 points

I put this in random thoughts earlier today forgetting this thread existed but on this day in 2018 The Longshot released their album Love is for Losers This one is from the week ending 14 April 2001 but Green Day were on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks at #26 with "Waiting"5 points

I was drawn to this picture too. I always love black and white shots of him.5 points

Happy to see Fancy Sauce was played. Really hope they keep this song for the big tour. I read comments pointing out that Billie was motioning for Tre to repeat the last part of the song, he seems to love playing it too. Or maybe he just was just not ready to stop playing in general just yet…either way I love his passion 💕 my wishlist for Saviors songs for the tour (limiting myself to 5 but would be happy for more): Dilemma, Fancy Sauce, 1981, Suzie Chapsticks and Goodnight Adeline5 points

Part of me doubts Bobby Sox will stay in the main tour lineup, at least not every night, because it seems like an awfully good way for Billie to mess up his voice.5 points

Yeah those are the ones we're gonna see get permanent spots on the setlists, for sure. They rounded it down to those. Plus Fancy Sauce maybe as the closer. Not that I hate those tracks..... but yeah I'm definitely also gonna miss Suzie Chapstick and Coma City. Hopefully they rotate them often. 🙂🤔 But that's already 34 songs, plus 2 or 3 more surprise tracks. I don't expect them chug out the entire Saviors album with Dookie and AI haha. The days of the 43 song sets are in the past I'm afraid. Especially not during a co-headliner tour.5 points

From Tre's Instagram story and Alice Baxley posted this of all their gear covered in Green Day stickers5 points

Last time they played in Tiki Bar, they were hilariously drunk and performed probably sloppiest and slowest Jesus of Suburbia ever. Whole Foxboro + Green Day set was the most beautiful trainwreck I have ever seen. This time around it's probably gonna be more chill, but I find it awesome how they have a such history with Tiki Bar. Performing 16-17 new Trilogy tracks as Green Day out of nowhere in 2011 and then 2019 set as The Coverups, which changed to Foxboro + Green Day. Oh, it was also Tre's birthday. Wonder will he be there this time around? Anyways, that beautiful trainwreck of a set.5 points

On this day 14 years ago (25 April 2010), the Foxboro Hot Tubs played the Bowery Electric in NYC. This was the one with eight Fuck Times and eight Stop Drop and Rolls. Billie also broke his teeth on a beer bottle right after having dental work done, if I remember correctly. More photos: 19 years ago (25 April 2005), Green Day played the Pepsi Arena in Albany, NY. 22 years ago (25 April 2002), they played in Chula Vista on the Pop Disaster Tour.4 points

This is very random so belongs here I guess. Everton F.C. manager Sean Dyche talking about being almost bullied to see Green Day by former football player Stuart Pearce. He loved it. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6Ge7Dco_M1/?igsh=MTVsMmt4MzUwd2lncw==4 points

I finally posted my recap of these shows on GDA. https://www.greendayauthority.com/news/6137/ I left it unfinished before writing the 100 Club part so I've forgotten most of what I wanted to say, but there are photos and the shows were very similar anyway. Hopefully it's still a good read. I also made a shirt since there weren't any for sale at the show and I'm very happy with it4 points

Green Day should form a secret band and keep it secret. Start a new band with no promo whatsoever and keep a tight lid on it, playing little hope in the walls. Heck, maybe they are doing that and have kept it hush hush.4 points

As requested by @GreenDayJunkie86here's some pics I've picked out from the show at the Echoplex. I think this is a really nice action shot of Kevin and theres something about this pic of Billie I like (can't put my finger on it but I think it's cool) Billie making faces Smiley action Billie and this one looks like Jason is sticking a long tongue out It's a cool pic Are there some others you'd like me to add @GreenDayJunkie86? If you like you can click on the images you like and say "copy" and then you can paste the link into the thread There were so many cool pics I couldn't decide4 points

Rare full recording from 2001 of The Frustrators (Mike’s side project) from Arica’s birthday party: Video post for Friday, April 19- link below Frustrators- The Minnow, Alameda Ca 9/22/01 xfer from 1st gen VHS tape w/ Green Day's Mike Dirnt It's Friday- video time! As promised, here is 1 this weekend from Arica Pelino's magic suitcase. Like I said last week, I wish I could have hung out with Arica and attended her birthday show. What a lineup. Enemies/Frustrators/Dickies. For those unaware of The Frustrators, they were a band in the early 2000's with Mike Dirnt (from Green Day), Jason Chandler (Plus Ones), Terry Linehan and Art Tedeschi. They put out an album and 2 EPs on Adeline Records. There's not much available in terms of live footage from this band- some interviews and a short/likely incomplete 12min video. This seems to be the only full length show out there. I think the real sign that Saviors is a great album is it has been out for 3 months and everyone still has different favorites and least favorites. Really has something for everyone on it. The last time I remember something like this was 21CB. Every album from that seems to have a majority consensus on favorites.4 points
