I'm giving away 6x4 prints from the Coverups and Longshot shows I've photographed because they're cheap and it's Ramadan. If you want some, send me a message letting me know which ones (eg. "C6, LS15") by 7 April. You'll also need to send me your name and address. Choose as many as you want – I do actually need to print at least 500 to get the best price. It doesn't matter if you already have some of my prints. They're great, so why not get more? If you want a bigger print, you're very welcome to ask, but I will have to ask you to pay for the print and postage. This is the price list: https://www.tescophoto.com/photo-prints Otherwise, I'm not expecting any payment, but if you really, really want to, you can donate the cost of your prints and postage to charity or buy me a coffee. And if you're not already following GDA on Instagram and Tumblr, go and do it. -
Father to a Son was my favorite but this may have tied it. This needs to be a single this would be a hit in any decade in rock music

Funny this song was just at the top thread today. Somehow this song has risen to the top for me. It’s my favorite song to listen to. It may not be the one I want to hear at shows the most, yet but it, more so than others shows a side of them and B’s writing that hasn’t really been done before and it can take him (and therefore me) into his older age. This is a good car song. Yeah they have a bunch of them like MDP but this one hits that GD spot while staying remaining and chill and while for sure at a show I want to lose my shit, I’m listening to them more at home and driving then while knocking you little people on your arses … This song to me might be the not sure how distant Green Day. Just a thought. It’s also just an awesome old old school song that sounds like Billies favorite breaks and progressions from the 50s and 60s and turn them into whatever he wants (all of the boys, Jason too because he does usually write the solos). Kevin did some ghost writing on this album as well btw.

Green Day performing at the iHeartRadio Awards on 1 April 2024

Bumping this thread as this will be happening soon. Is someone able to capture it for those of us outside the US? I see the boys are up against Blink 182, the Foo Fighters, Fall Out Boy and Paramore for Alternative Artist of the Year. Hoping as they're performing they could be in with a chance of winning? - Yesterday

This is an ignorant comment tbh. Billie himself said it was inspired by Teenage Fanclub and The Pretenders. If you are not up to speed on TF, they are one of the best jangle pop bands of all time (been around since the early 90s and are still making music and touring today). This is one of my favorite songs of theirs https://youtu.be/UK_CuMJJLwg?feature=shared

I truly think he doesn’t know what to do with his arms when he doesn’t have the guitar. -
Billie posted about Ultra Q again

Little bit of a Jagger strut too.

I'm fascinated by the little dance just after half way through this one. I just keep watching it -
C&V would probably be a mix of pop-punk and straight punk rock.

More Beach Boys than Backstreet Boys!

Everyone is going wild for them! The media is still releasing articles about the show. I think they are going to take over the world at this point . I loved the floofy hair! -
If they remember some of the songs they recorded, I would love to hear what they were going to make. I know they confirmed that Too Much Too Soon was recorded during the album, but I would love to hear more.
-
Cigarettes and Valentines the song was probably going to be the lead single since it was deemed good enough for them to share, because they hardly ever perform unreleased stuff live. So it would be the more poppy, accessible side of that album.

So many good feels from that Anaheim show And Billie, of course, is looking soooooooooo cute. I don't know what it is about this version of blond Billie, but I love it! It suits him really well and he's looking mighty fine. Also, his hair was so floofy at the show it made his head look extremely big
-
But seriously I don't hear the comparison. If anything this song has REALLY grown on me since the album release
-
❤️ I love that! He NEEDS to do more of those. Really? Cigarettes and Valentines doesn't sound like Kerplunk at all, haha. I can see that it sounds a little (tiny bit) like Insomniac, but I really have to imagine him singing it to get the thought. That's crazy 😄.

Just a reminder of all the films you needs to watch to be a real Green Day fan. Blood Rage, Corvette Summer, The Outsiders, Rumblefish. You can't see a film of version of Catcher and the Rye because the owners of that property are punk rock and won't allow it. Gotta read that one my guys. I'm probably gonna check out Blood Rage since I'm on a horror kick right now. BLOOD RAGE. Imagine if Billie never discovered punk but became a heavy metal guy inspired by van Halen, ozzy, def leppard, iron maiden. (oh and I just read that Cigarettes and Valentines sounded like Kerplunk and Insonmniac. WHAT??????) From the Nobody Likes You book.
