Lyrics: Whiskey Chaser

This is a cool set of lyrics, for me. Not only did they come from a really fun, happy place and set of experiences, me and a friend are turning them into a full-on rock 'n roll song. It's pretty obvious what they're about; fun, booze, debauchery - just having an absolute fucking blast and being completely irresponsible. It's a prayer to the party, I guess. I enjoyed writing this, I hope you enjoy reading, and I hope soon you enjoy listening. Let me know what you think:

Whiskey Chaser

I wake up after dark and it messes with my mind

With the taste of last night getting left behind

And it’s only been an hour since I saw her face

But I’m already getting bored of this fucking place

Well she was seventeen and the sweetest thing

Just the kind of girl perfect for a fling

She rocked the body shots, and she rocked my bed

But baby that was last night, now full steam ahead

Oh pour out the Jack’s

Make that a double honey

Isn’t life a gas when you don’t worry?

Make your excuses but never say sorry, c’mon!

So go get me a drink, there’s no time to waste

I’m living for tonight and I got here late

Temptation is the only thing I can’t resist

I’m chasing whiskey with the girl that’s on my lips

Give me more ‘cause I’ll take nothing less

I’ll settle for pleasure so let’s get undressed

I call it not enough and you call it excess

Your skin tastes like sweat and your breath like sex

Oh pour out the Jack’s

Make that a double honey

Isn’t life a gas when you don’t worry?

Make your excuses but never say sorry, c’mon!
