The Ballad posts a song. Nobody cares. The sun is hot.

Heeeeey-ohhhhh. This is a song I just wrote called Good Morning and it's a pretty soft, sappy song. If I could play guitar, you can bet I'd be wearing a V-neck and plucking my acoustic right about now. It's pretty obvious what it's about. LEGGO!

"Good Morning"

I hate that you can’t stay up as late as I can
Because I’m not finished with you tonight
I don’t want your voice to end, I don’t need another friend
I just need what feels right

And if it takes you a while just for you to take me there
It’ll probably take just as long for me to not care
You’ve got your head on sideways, your heart’s leaking out
And I’m having less trouble trying to figure you out

So I’ll call just to hear the words we both knew you would say
And all in all, I’ll try to make you feel the very same way
That we feel when we look out towards the sea
And the bridge disappears, it’s just you and me
So I’ll call just to hear the words I’ve always wanted you to say

You’ve got yourself an old boyfriend, you’re in the mood for new sights
My confidence in such sly, sneaky tourism never felt quite so nice
Because I’ll be your liar, your biggest secret
We’ll hate ourselves but we will both keep it, oh yeah
But I hate that’d it come down to that

Do you know where your own heart is at?
I don’t think you do, but just drop me a line
Should you ever want it back

So I’ll call just to hear the words we both knew you would say
And all in all, I’ll try to make you feel the very same way
That we feel when we look out towards the sea
And the bridge disappears, it’s just you and me
So I’ll call just to hear the words I’ve always wanted you to say

I can call any night, any place, any time
Fom the dreams which it's your voice on the other line

So I'll call just to hear the words I don't think you'll ever say

Always a fan of lyrics that sound like something you'd actually say. Like the whole thing is a conversation with extra flow, if that makes sense? :)

Constructive criticism (everybody asks for it but nobody gets it) : watch your structure. First 2 verses are fine, but the next 2 are imbalanced. Makes it easier to put to music if they are equal.

Haha yeah, I feel like that tends to be a problem with my stuff. Probably because of my lack of experience with music. Thanks Cat :D

Your lyrics are fucking cash man. Another song I can relate to eerily well, really good. A good tip to improve flow is to look out out for the number of syllables per line. Write the first few lines and then make sure your other verses follow a similar or exact syllable structure/number of syllables per line. That's an easy way to create rhythm and flow.

Yeah I gotta stick to that more often I think. Sometimes it just kinda happens like I am just talking, like Cat said, and I forget about the glow I guess. ;p Thanks man.

It's great!!! As the other people said though, it is a little bit imbalanced. But you can always try and squeeze in that extra syllable on the same note when you're singing and see if you can make it work  :)
