Just for the sake of a new discussion (rather than piling up posts for 3 years in a single thread), school is starting up again for most of us, how do you feel about this semester/year.

You should post what year/grade you're going into.

This is my last semester where I'll be getting an asscoiates degree in Computer Technology/ Website Administration. Then next semester i start working on my Bachelors in Computer Science.

This semester is gonna be easy, i only have two classes to take. Sociology and a course in Office 2007.

I'm really liking Sociology. My teacher seems like a really cool guy, and even though we've only had two classes, he's really made a point about opening up our minds. I'm looking forward to the rest of it.

My Office 2007 class is gonna be painfully boring. I was supposed to take this class when i first started, it's almost like an introduction to Microsoft Word. The last class we literally spent an hour and 40 minutes talking about how to create folders and copy the contents of one to another. It really sucked. Thankfully, i sit to a couple of people who are beginners, so I spent the majority of the time helping them out, which i enjoyed.

So how about you, whats your year/semester look like? Excited for classes or just happy to be back in school? Or neither?

I'm in my senior year of high school this year. Today was my first day.
My schedual is pretty nice. I only need to make a couple of changes.

Day 1: Creative English 12, Teacher's Aid, Anatomy*, Drawing
Day 2: Chorus, AP European History, Math, Band

* I need to change that fast.
Creative English and Drawing seem to be my favorite right now. I'm looking forward to chorus / band tomorrow to meet the new teacher since last year's was a complete douche.

This week started school for me, and today I got my elauation.

I'm going to be doing GED practice work and this year or next I will get my GED.

I'm a senior in High School.

So far I'm doing ok I suppose, we had cleaning to do around the house
so I didn't get much homework.

I start high school (9th grade) in 6 days. I'm glad to get out of my middle school because it was terrible in many ways. Plus, I get to meet new people. My middle school had about 650 people in it with all the grades. The high school has around 1400. So yeah, hopefully I'll be able to make some new friends and stuff. I can't say I'm too excited about waking up at 6:30 in the morning and doing a bunch of work though. My schedule for first semester is pretty good. My schedule is:
1st period- Art exploration
2nd period- Geometry
3rd period- English 1 (I have the teacher that I've heard is a bitch. Hopefully I'll be okay though because I like to write and I'm used to having shit teachers by now haha. It'd been worse if I didn't work my way out of being in honors english)
4th period- Health/Fitness
5th period- Integrated Earth/Physical Science
6th period- Beginning Digital Photography (I'm excited about this one. I get to use one of those big awesome Canon cameras. I really wanna learn about the subject too, because it interests me).

My second semester schedule isn't really that good at all, but hopefully I'll survive.

I actually think I'm gonna be pretty pleased with this year. (Holy shit...it's the apocalypse) Last year was awful. This year I'm looking forward to my Visual Communications class. And then next semester's Video Production class.

Plus, being a Junior now, I've got open campus and I'll have my liscense as of tomorrow. (Hopefully)

So..yeah, I think it'll be a good year.
Ila Reto
im in my sophmore year of highschool. it's hell of a lot harder than last year.
right now i should be doing an essay and i'm not, because it's pointless and i like to procrastinate obviously.

this semester i have
AP World History/English Honors II- and it is really hard. i've only been in school now for what, 8 days? and im already dreading it.
Geometry- im brilliant at Algebra but i dont get geometry at all, i can tell by the test i managed to bomb on today.
Honor's Chemistry I- i love that class. the teacher is a pretty cool guy and we have more of a relaxed discussion setting rather than actual work.
and finally CCC- at least i made a friend in a class!

im getting psychology/sociology next semester...i can't wait!

That is just like my CCC class (stands for Computing for College and Careers). Except it is for Office 2003 which is pointless but the only thing available because 2003 is what the county's computers are set as. We do work out of textbooks that tell us what to click and stuff, and although i know it i get lazy and make this girl that i'm getting to know help me. It's alright, i look up PHGP and Sweet Children pictures to set as my computer wallpaper and go on the GDO forum (last year i was able to get on here but i think they're on to me so they blocked it).

Should I be worried about starting high school? laugh.gif

^^--Oh, thanks for reminding me about the bad thing.

I don't have any of those AP classes. I was too un-confident with myself to sign up for those classes, and it's too late now, cause I won't have the summer work done. But now I'm afraid I'm not gonna get into the college I want because I'm not taking those classes. sad.gif

we had about 200 students all together in the middle and high school where i grew up. Kinda funny to see someone complaining that there weren't enough people in middle school to make new friends with.

I'm starting second year of med school in Oct. My profs are gonna be the same which is a great thing , I guess.
My classes are :
Pathology
Microbiology
Pharmacology
Biochemistry II ( I'm psyched )
PhysiologyII
Anatomy II
I know it's not gonna be easy, and I'll probably cry the first few days, but I'll get over it nonetheless . I heard from MSII saying that second year is easier than first .They say pathology is the hardest. I think I should wait and decide for myself.
Though I'm excited for the 3rd year; we get to do rounds and check on real patients.

I never make new friends because it seems that I'm always in a class with the same people. I know like, at least 5 people as aquaintances in each class. Plus those who are my friends. And with the size of our class getting smaller as Senior year approaches since everyone drops out. I've pretty much come to believe that I'm not gonna make "new friends" until college.

Actually, so far, my favorite year (class wise, not grade wise) was Freshman year.
But maybe this year will surpass that.
Viva La Junkpile
I switched from Visual Arts to a more difficult program to get into. I'll be in Illustration & Design for the next 3 years :l 'Cause its a uber shiny career program. only 50 students are admitted into the program per year (two groups of 25)... and in comparison to the 10,000 other students at Dawson (yes, THAT Dawson College)... that's nothing.

http://www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca/programs/te...esign/index.php
That's all the spifftastic info. Woots for me I'm stuck with the same people for the next 3 years.
.:Whatsername:.
I'm going into grade 11 this year, joy. I just got my schedule today. First semester I have College/University Math, University English, University French and Physical Geography. Horrible. I didn't even want Physical Georgraphy (you learn about... dirt, and natural disasters rolleyes.gif ). My second semester is a little better, I have a peer tutoring course I plan on taking in the library since I like the librarian and that's a job I'm looking into for myself, Anthropoloy/Sociology/something else, World History and Travel and Tourism.

The Guidance office got my first schedule completely wrong. I had to go back to the school to get them to switch classes to a lot of the ones I said. They had me down for Parenting and Drama. I hate kids and don't plan on having any anytime soon if ever, and I am so shy that Drama would kill me, plus I took it in Grade 9 and hated it. But I'm a little happier with it all now... sorry for my rant.

Haha, woah. Well, my grade consisted of a... not very diverse group of people. Mainly, there were the people involved in all the rumors and drama and the "OMG DID YOU HEAR WHAT HE SAID?!" stuff. Then there was the people who said they were black when they're white/Hispanic and thought they were the shit. And then you've got the people who I have stuff in common with music wise (which is a very small group of people haha) and all of them but one love to drink and go out and do weed among other things and that's not exactly the people I like to be around a lot. Then you have the group of girls who are off getting pregnant and stuff at age 14. Uhm... seriously that's about it. Oh then there's the kids who are sports freaks. I just don't get along with like... anyone. I've known a lot of these people since kindergarten/1st/2nd/3rd grade because the elementary school is right next to the middle school, and feeds into it. I know too much about them and I'm not one of the "popular kids" so a lot of people don't associate with me because of that. Then there's people who hate me even though I've never talked to them. The people who hate me for the people that I do hang out with. The people that I just don't get along with... etc.

I probably sound like a picky bitch, but you'd see what I meant if you came here haha. Basically to sum things up, I live in a slightly small area where most people are people who try to be people that they're not. It's hard to explain it all without it sounding bad haha.
dr_sadness_88
I can really relate to Vanessa's situation. We're just built differently . I thought school crap ends at highschool, but it doesn't really. The cycle just goes on and on.

I'm going into 8th grade. Open house is tomorrow so I'll get to meet my teachers.
My goals are:
Get at least a C in math
Try not to fail P.E.
Try not to act like a smartass when talking to teachers
And Turn in ALL my homework (That is not going to happen).
Vanessa
Like even walking through the local mall today, a lot of people gave me confused and dirty looks (my guess is because of my bright red streak in my hair and my lip ring haha) but like, I had two guys smile at me (one had a lip ring too and then another had a similar style to mine). Getting bad looks is kinda entertaining though because I'll just stare back at the person until I'm too far away to haha. Especially when the looks are from adults, it's extra fun laugh.gif

Don't set an unattainable goal, because it kills your motivation, start with 'I won't miss more than one assignment a week this month' or something easier. smile.gif

I was supposed to start 10th grade today, I didn't go. I can honestly say I do not plan to continue traditional highschool, I'm going to start setting up appointments and talking to people about getting a GED or attending night school tommorow.
Billy
i won't brag, but i have and will get a 3.9+ all year.
my goals are to just relax and have fun.

1. Advanced Algebra II. it's hard, but the teacher is fun and helps you out.
2. Religion II. the teacher is hillarious, we've been messing with each other since last year. plus the girl who i like/likes me is in that class.
3. Study Hall
4. Honors World Cultures. it's fun, i enjoy the stuff, and the teacher is a nice guy.
5. a Honors English
5. b Lunch
5. c Honors English
6. Spanish II. it's a funny class, some of my best friends are in it.
7. Theater Production
8. Biology
love_billie_joe
my first day of school (my senior year) was actually on July 18th...

My schedule ( I changed it numerous times) is finally
1st period - Statistics (rather boring math)
2nd period - Government
3rd period - AP literature
4th period - AP Biology
Oh and I'm also starting a college math class tomorrow (math 122) at a community college....I'm gonna try getting my pre-reqs out of the way...

Oooo, I can't wait 'till I get to Med school.

I'm in my Sophomore year in college and I'm a Med A.A student.

Let's see. I'm taking:

Chemistry 1
Chem. Lab
Plane Trigonometry
Precalculus Algebra
American Literature from 1870
Public Speaking (bleh)
Music Appreciation

I'm a little behind because I didn't go this summer, but it'll be ok. Holy crap, my books and lab stuff wound up costing about $700. My scholarship doesn't pay for books sad.gif . Hooray for Labor Day! No school Monday.

This is my junior year in college. Classes start tomorrow. I'm stressed about it. I'm taking 6 classes, 16.5 units. 1 class I'll like: Graphic Design. I'm a Graphic Design Major. My other classes, I hate the professors in 4. I'm taking Drawing I, Painting I, and Design with a professor I haven't liked since the moment I met her. She's scary as hell and not a very good art teacher. She's too judgemental and you have to please her style instead of truly exploring your own style.
My next class in Experiences in Music. The professor I have was a teacher at my high school until my junior year ended. He was basically fired. Now he's here torturing college students. I'm taking the class online, so it's not like I have to sit in front of him, but he emailed everyone and told us we have homework due on Saturday. Classes start tomorrow! And Saturday? In fact, it's every Saturday for the next at least 8 weeks. I'm upset.
My last class is Personality Theory. I like psychology so I'm hoping this class will be good. I was excited for Psych 101 a couple years ago, but the teacher sucked and ruined it for me. I hope that won't happen this time.
It'll be nice having something to break up work again, but I have to do Yearbook too and a project for a gallery in Liverpool, so I'm not excited for anything. There's just too much and so much I already don't like. Who wants to spend 4.5 hours straight with a teacher they don't like? That's twice a week. 9 hours of hell. I'm hoping I'm wrong and this year will be okay.
saurus
I still haven't got used to the fact I wont be going back to school in a few weeks.
I'm starting Uni instead.
I'll be doing drama. smile.gif

Basically. I'm done with Spanish after this year though, and I smell an easy one since the teacher is ready to pop out twins any day.
Also, my favorite teacher is unofficially pregnant and I'm irate because that means she'll be leaving in February and not coming back until senior year. D:

I am in my junior year in college. I'll be taking three classes: Law,War, and Morality, Journalism 201, and a computer course in Office 2007--- all of which will be online.

I am excited about going back to school just because I missed a semester of school in the summer. The whole preparation for enrollment has been stressful. My school dropped my classes once... so I had to resubmit my classes which sort of slowed some things down. So yeah I look forward to school very much but hate the political side of school which is a grueling experience if you don't play by their rules the first time around. I learned this the hard way but all is well now.

Best wishes to everyone. biggrin.gif

Im starting my Sophomore year of College right now.

I'm going into my 3rd year of University.

And it's going to be so freakin' tough. I have my dissertation to do this year - 8,000 words as well as 6 exams in January and 6 exams in May and then I'll get essays every month from my other 5 modules. Arrghhh!

I can't remember all my modules. I think I'm doing:

1) Biopsychology.
2) Mental Health.
3) Developmental Psychology.

.......and that's all I remember. Haha. I should probably know really. My timetables printed in two weeks =]

I don't want to go back sad.gif

I'd post my schedule now, but I don't have it yet. : /
I know I'm taking:
-Advanced Art
-AP US History (in Italy... ha. I wish I could take the Renaissance course, but it would screw up my senior year confused.gif)
-Trigonometry
-Gym (preferably yoga)
-Jr. year English (the don't have Honors >__<)
-Biology II (I haven't even taken Bio I yet... at my last school we did it Physics, Chem, Bio. It should be hard, but I've been looking through my textbook.)
-Italian (I have to take a placement test first. There are 12 levels.)
-Study halls

School starts Monday, at 10:30, for the new kids. We get the tour, placement test, our schedules, etc. Then the returning students come at around noon. There are only 212 students, which is a huge change from the 2500 at my last school.

Well I studied Business Information Technology for 2 years at university but dropped out for personal reasons. As I didn't do my 2nd year exams I can't return to that particular course.

I applied for a new university to study Business and got accepted. I'll be covering areas such as; accountancy, marketing, human resources and law. To start back to the very beginning is very scary for me, I'm extremely nervous about it to say the least.
