Sorry if this has been done before, but I searched, and nothing came up.

So yeah, if Green Day chose to do another collaboration, like they did with U2, who would you want it to be and why?

Or would you prefer if they didn't do anymore collaborations? Or would you want it to be a big group collaboration, like the live version of "Across the Universe" that Billie took part of a few years ago? Any opinions?
Billy
well, to be reasonable the Foo Fighters.
Green Day are friends with the Foo Fighters.
they've done several things together, and i know Dave is friends with Billie.
Atticus Finch
I don't really know, I'm kind of picky with that sort of thing. I didn't really like the U2 collaboration, but the Across the Universe group performance was amazing.

I would laugh if they pulled a Linkin Park and collaborated with a rap artist. Ludacris or Lil' Wayne.
Farah
it'd be cool if they done something like that again,
i dont know who with, but it will still be enjoyable =P
i supose...
TwoDollarMellie
^ haha I heard something about them collaborating with Lil Jon a while ago. I wonder if it actually happened.
Billy
no...
Linkin Park did stuff with Jay-Z.
Andres
I'm pretty sure i'd shoot myself if they ever did a collaboration with a rapper.
jose armstrong
billie joe is friends with gerard way, and green day is like mcr's older brother (gerard way said it)that's sure, but i don't think mcr and green day match styles at all, they are two absolute different things, i would love to see it happen though.

If you're referring to what I just said,

I meant I heard something about Green Day doing a collaboration with Lil Jon. It says on a few articles, including this one.

lol if it's true, I wonder if GD is gonna rap.
Billy
i could see Weezer doing a collaboration.
Rivers is a Green Day fan.
Lady Liberty
The Prodigy.
Andres
ohmy.gif Green Day and Weezer even touring together would make my year, or my 4-5 years.

Atticus Finch
I would pay five dollars to witness Billie Joe attempt to rap.

A Green Day/Chas and Dave mash up would just pwn all of your suggestions.
communitykid
Great thread.

I'd like it if Green Day collaborated with somebody with a different style. Like, not alt rock, that would just be too expected.

Maybe like, System of a Down or something.

i agree, but what have they done together?

other ones i'd like: weezer, jesse malin, i could see them working out something good with AFI or The Living End, but i think that has potential to be horrible
FruscianteForPrez08
Oh GOD, the Across the Universe thing at the Grammys was horrid, Alicia Keys, Scott Weiland, and Billie were the only decent people, Norah Jones and Brian Wilson destroyed it.
Ah, yeah Billy, a Foos collaboration would be amazing, Tre and Taylor together and Bill and Dave, oh boy. I can't really think of anybody else that would work for both of the artists... Weezer would be really cool.

Note on the "collaborated" =]

It would be chaotic and odd..

One member from The Network, another for FHT and another for Green Day. =]

I don't know. blink.gif

oh the confuzzion
Hermione
laugh.gif That 'Across The Universe' performance is one of the most cringeworthy things I've ever seen.

considering that most of the people in each of those projects... were in the others....

I think you could maybe say that the collaboration between the tubbies and the network...... make up green day.

with a dash of pinhead/frussy/influents/crimpshine/monsula/and all sorts of other bands of course laugh.gif

Brian Wilson knows it too. You can see it in his face, he's like "Well, this is shit!"
hardtoconcentrate
I actually can't answer this question, I really don't know. Most of the other bands I like would sound ridiculous with Green Day (RHCP, QOTSA, Kings of Leon, Rage against the Machine). I don't think they would go well together at all.

Ok, let me rephrase.

I'd like it if Green Day collaborated with Serj Tankian and Scars on Broadway...

Haha, better?

me too i would have to do extensive thinking about how thier sounds can mesh well together and with the U2 thing they already did that i would only think of them but some maybe but i would have to think if they would sound good together or not. some of those bands listed would sound absolutly awful and cliche with green day the styles of them dont mesh that well.

I don't think Oasis likes Green Day, especially after Noel accused GD of ripping off "Wonderwall" for "BOBD".

But I think it would be really cool if they did collaborate.
Hermione
^Haha, I don't think Green Day particularly like Oasis either. In some old interview Billie Joe said he saw Oasis live and it was "like watching paint dry" biggrin.gif

fall_out_boy
hmm... I don't know.

I think Green Day collaborating with anyone else would just sound... weird.

EDIT: I just thought of something- a collaboration with Aqualung would be interesting. Two completely different styles of music, but I think it might work...
YORUGUA
NOFX
FOO FIGHTERS
RANCID
BAD RELIGION
Hermione
Nah, I prefer pure undiluted Green Day
kvnie
Green Day collaborating with the Smashing Pumpkins would be awesome or Enya
