Hello,

I thought this thread would have already been done but i searched it and i could not find anything so don't blame me if you have done this before.

A friend of mine preorded a game in January but it isn't released until at least November.
I think this is a bit over the top and i just go out and buy games when they are released.

So i was just wondering how far in advance any of you have ordered a game and if any one else agrees that 10 months is slightly over the top.

Thanks for reading biggrin.gif

I don't pre-order anymore, because it's basically a waste of time.

But I remember there being some kind of furore over LOZ:WW being sold out in the first day, so I pre-ordered that. Only to see at like near closing time, that the shelves were still packed. mellow.gif

Like if you camped outside a shop to be the first in line for a new game or book or what ever
and you waited for hours and hours
and then at opening time you were the only one in the line
to then realise that the new whatever doesn't come out till next week

that would be a pointless waste of your precious hours of your life.

the only time i've pre-ordered a game, sims 2 it was, it got lost in the post, and i ended up waiting a lot longer than i would have if i bought it once it was out. pre-ordering usually doesn't get it to you quicker, it just makes sure you get a copy. that's what i've learnt.

I have pre ordered GTA 4 when it didnt even have a date set and that was about 1 1/2 years. For halo 3 it was a bout a year and 3 months and spore which comes out september 7 I preordered 2 and a half years ago.

I pre-order a few days before the game comes out. There's no need to do it any earlier unless the store only allows pre-orders up to a month before the release date or something.

That would be your fault though because you were too dim to check the release date before camping out all night.
