Em...I cried after I met them. I didn't cry infront of them or anything but I went into the toilets afterwards and shed a few tears, I was just so happy. Also right before I met Billie, my eyes started to well up a little and Adrienne was like 'You're so cute.' laugh.gif

I just felt sad for Wake Me Up When September Ends in Biab
Hermione
Never. However much music or films etc affect me or make me sad / happy, they just don't ever make me cry. Things that actually happen to me can though, so I suppose if I actually went to see them in concert or met them it could happen afterwards maybe.

Leanne, given the fantabulous experience you had, I don't think there's anyone who wouldn't cry a few tears of joy. woot.gif Adrienne Armstrong thinks you're cute!
Mommy's Little Nightmare
I'm not entirely sure there's been any crying due to Green Day on my behalf. They tend to cheer me up when I'm in a bad mood... not so much the other way around.
adelineidiot
It can't be!!! sorry this is wrong, the title was ''special emotions with green day''.
sorry for this it was my first topic:(

BIAB- Good Riddance
*Trina*
I think I'm a bot to over sensitive because i tend to cry alot with stuff got to do with them...
The most recent thing was a few days ago some channel was playing biab and i was watching it all happy and all of a sudden i realised how music i missed them (dont ask me how i can miss something i dont know!) and i just started crying and wouldnt stop for about an hour!

When those slane castle rumours were around and it wasnt true i really freaked out and had a mini breakdown (i was only like 12 so thats why i was acting so weird)
same when that asshole said fht were playing in dublin although i didnt freak out as much as that time

When they were playing oxegyn and my cousin went and i couldnt go cuz i was too young and had no money i spent the whole day crying
...i know it sounds really immature all of this but i just cant help it!

oh and sometimes when i was reading the stories about the fht gigs here i would start crying, sometimes thoguh it was cuz i was happy cuz they seemed to have such a good time...

I cried when the whole fht thing started ya know the 8th of dec or whenever...i went and listenind to the 3 songs and i was shaking like crazy...and tears were rolling down my face and i just got kinda paralysed so i kept listneing to the songs on headphones and my mom seen me and i musta looked seriously weird so she was like whats wrong??? and i couldnt even speak!! Imagine when the new green day cd comes out how fucked up ill get!! or when i see them live =O I might just die!

anyways i have too many stories and im too lazy to write them out so...
adelineidiot
what's biab?
Used Illusion

I think their songs can be that moving, music is a subjective thing. Some people cry more than others, big deal.

I'm not someone who naturally cries unless I'm in a real, upsetting situation, so they wouldn't actually make me cry. But Green Day's songs have moved me more than all the other music I've ever heard put together tongue.gif
Phoebe.
We get it, aus boys are dickless morons. Take it to pm, or better still; your graves.

When I heard Longview on the radio in 1994, I didn't have a CD player, so I taped it and was so happy that I had the song! biggrin.gif
adelineidiot
yeah, their music it isn't sad but live concerts interviews, things like that.thy are punk ,not a drama club
Ila Reto
first time i cried must have been December 2005. even though i had only known holiday, i considered myself a pretty big fan, and immediately went on all these fansites to know everyting and anything about them. I felt so damn sorry for billie that when it came on the radio (i only was able to hear green day songs on the radio....ya'll should have seen me hunched over my radio flipping through channels for hours to hear just one song a day!) i'd cry my eyes out.
then after i got american idiot i didn't cry as much.

ooohhh but trust me, i can cry durring freaking basketcase if im in a crying mood.

uh, before i found gdc, as most of you know i was basically a complete wreck. i'd fall asleep to BIAB almost every night, and when good riddance came on i'd end up crying like a baby. haah, actually, good riddance must be the first time i cried with green day because my 5th grade graduation...which was 2003 i think.

laugh.gif wow i type alot.

I find their songs very moving, too, and although I don't usually cry - sometimes I choke up and/or tear up for a second. Music really affects me emotionally and can completely alter my mood if I listen to the right thing. Green Day seems to have that ability more than most I listen to. I think the lyrics are just so honest and unpretentious but also often deeply meaningful (at least for me). They often seem to express something perfectly that I have felt or am still feeling. And they always seem perfect with whatever they're doing musically for that song.

Example - the first time I heard Minority - it just stuck a hook in my heart and pulled - so amazing for me given my life story. It's not a sad song, but it can always make me feel very emotional (and powerful and contented and energetic and inspired - and connected). Green Day's music is better than alcohol or any drug for me.

because being tough and not crying is so punk...

I cried a lot during the concert I went to, mainly because it was the anniversary of Bill's dad's death, so Wake Me Up was really something special. And they played Disappearing Boy and Minnesota Girl, so I was going crazy with emotions.

I think I may have shed a little tear when Billie started crying during Wake me up when september ends at the concert in CT.

I don't think I've ever cried because of them, though there have been occasions where I've been crying and listen to them to make me feel better tongue.gif
adelineidiot
agree wit they'r better than alcohol or drugs

''because being tough and not crying is so punk... '' that's what I meaning ,beeing punk don't means you can't have emotions...e.x.:billie's crying in w.m.u.w.s.e.
Hermione
Completely agree about the lyrics Janewt, that's exacty how I see them.

When I first got into Green Day, every time I got another album or song, I was just amazed that a band could seem to speak to me like that, I can't express how strange and great it was. I don't think I'd ever really been 'moved' by music before, but there's just something about them. Their songs can reflect and change how I'm feeling, whatever mood I'm in. If any music does ever move me to tears, you can bet it'll be their doing!

Yeah, that! It's that connection that makes me feel so much when I hear their music (and other music that I love - but Green Day is more consistent about "speaking to me" with almost every song instead of just a few "best" songs).
woven_basketcase
I've never cried over GD. o__o

I've cried to No One Knows, and possibly Good Riddance once.

I'll be honest and say that I've cried whilst Good Riddance played, but that was an extremely emotional day for reasons of my own.

i can cry durring any green day song. im serious. i was upset and basket case came on TV and it only made it worse laugh.gif
that must have been a year ago.

on a more recent note, besides what i have previously posted, Whatsername usually gets me crying. the last part mostly starting at "Remember, whatever, it seems like forever ago" to the end. oh boy, haha so many songs, so little patience to post.
Phoebe.
Good Riddance makes me cringe, it's so overrated. Nice message, poor all round otherwise.

But I shan't lie, give me novacaine has indeed induced a tear to fall from mine eye.
adelineidiot
ehm... I cried too with watsername, after I read ''the meaning of american idiot''in a website
chickin'pickin'
Had it not been for my circumstances at the time, I would have never cried over a Green Day song.

Celes Chere
Cry with a green day son???
I don't think that's possible!
Funny songs!
Hermione
I know they have a lot of humour and wit in them and they sound upbeat, but most Green Day songs have quite dark themes below the surface. If you look at the lyrics they're usually far from happy!
billiejoe3272
when time of your life came on at the dublin concert in 2005. i knew then that there were nearly finished and i didnt want them to leave
