I know who he is! he's a great actor and yeah i can't wait to see him as Batman (once again!) in the Dark Knight!

you should also see American Psycho,The Machinist,The Prestige (with Hugh Jackman ), Harsh Times, and many many more in which he acts

Batman Begins
Equilibrium (great movie!) - This movie came out right around the time of the big matrix phase, and the fighting scenes remind me of the matrix, but i love the plotline of this movie way more than the matrix....
American Psycho
The Prestige
3:10 to Yuma

to give you a brief overview: Its in the future in a time when everyone takes these (I guess you could say 'injections') which allow them to not feel.
The reason why people have no emotion is because they believe that in order to end all the hatred and war in the world we should eliminate what triggers, it human emotion. Simply put, Christian Bale forgets to take the 'supplement' one day and experiences what life is like with emotions...He does a brilliant performance in this film....
