I'm not sure how many heard of the secret gig.
Anyhow,
last nite as I was about to posts my disappointing Long Beach experience
but then I had recieved an email from this mail listing of this one local band in area titled that they and Green Day (yeah, most prolly Foxboro Hot Tubs) would be there that nite at the institute of Abnormalarts in North Hollywood. It was already 8:30 and this was soo last minute of a notice 'specially considerin' I commute by bus to most of my shows andd I barely had money.. I had no time to really inquire rather this was bs or to findout the admission. I decided within half an hour what the hay and to just go for it. I had made it down there a few min. before 10pm. I was soo stoked that I managed to get in. That the admission was only half the regular admission for the shows only 10 bucks! Also that was the basically the last of my funds. Well, mostly. I was down to only 60cents but gettin' back home was the least of my worries 'specially since I'd possibly catch the Foxtubs.
So, wanderin' around the place and overhearin' people conversate it seemed that that this secret gig was no lie. So, I wait around and then I notice 15-20 min. from the time they're to go on that no equipment had been setup and I had overheard a couple of fans talkin' to the guy that runs the place.. it sounded bad.. turns out that the show was confirmed and setup by Kevin. Calls had been left on his phone and he wasn't returning them. So, the band most prolly flaked out? The owner had experience this in the past with other bands but he did not expect this from them since the band had apparently played there last year.
eh.. good grief. so, I come down all the way there... just to wastes the lil bit of money I had left. not even enough to get a day pass. Just enough for a one-way trip... luckily my mom's place is pretty close to the place. So I could just visit her place and crash.. it was like a 3hr and a half walk though.. which I wouldn't had minded soo much had the show actually happened.
