Listen to more music.

False. Twas 'not the best album of last year.
Better albums:
Thrice - Alchemy Index I & II
Kanye West - Graduation
Dustin Kensrue - Please Come Home
Explosions In The Sky - All Of The Sudden I miss Everyone
Bright Eyes - Cassadaga
The Fall of Troy - Manipulator
Modest Mouse - We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank
Against Me - New Wave
Tegan & Sara - The Con
Darkest Hour - Deliver Us
Minus The Bear - Planet of Ice
Between the Buried & Me - Colors
Iron & Wine - The Shepards Dog
Maybe some more too.
Eh...agree to disagree? I liked The Shepard's Dog as much as anyone, and the new Kanye and Modest Mouse discs had some great songs, but they weren't as good overall as their last couple of albums. Also, I guess "Back In Your Head" was a good single even though I'm not the biggest Tegan & Sara fan.
I totally agree that Radiohead are overrated to an extent...everyone blew a casket over Hail to the Theif when it came out and I still can't really see the praise. I used to dislike Kid A too but I turned around a bit...I still think there's some weakish songs on the second half though (except for Idioteque, which is probably the best song on the album.)
In Rainbows, however, is not only significant for the way it was released, with the pay whatever you want scheme, but it was an absolutely stellar set of songs that flowed supremely well together and were more stripped back then Radiohead has been in the past decade. I loved all of it.
But again, everyone's entitled to their own opinions. I'm just uber excited to see a great band perform at a great festival, end of story.
