chickin'pickin'
It's not part of the current generation. so it's old now. Stop nit picking mad.gif
penutt
i dont consider the first 2 retro. especially not gamecube.

chickin'pickin'
Meh, fair enough. Jesus. Just go with the flow at least.

n64 was my life as a 9 year old.
Extraordinary_Girl
Sega Genesis, PS, Nintendo 64.

Fuck Family Game

Edit: it was PS, not PSP.

I also have Gameboy Color, and Gameboy Advance. Forgot about those.
CaesarSalad
i wasn't nitpicking, i was just confused. i thought we were going to be talking pitfall and pong or something.

anyway, i have a sega genesis on which i used to play a lot of sonic spinball. when i had a nes i tried to play mario, but failed miserably. same with the snes. the yoshi game with baby mario was one of my favorites.

i have some old piece of junk in my basement. i can't remember what it's called, i just know it's some sort of ripoff of an atari.

getting into 3d gaming, ocarina of time was and still is my all-time favorite.

Nah the graphics were cutesy, but that also worked to its advantage, one of the most beautiful uses of cartoon type graphics ever seen.
The Underbelly
I have this folder on my PC with all kinds of DOS games in it.

I mean Keen, Prince of Persia, Theme Hospital, Crystal Caves. It doesn't get much better.

Family game? ohmy.gif

Yes, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_game.

That is indeed retro. Everyone here was into it back in the day, I never had it, never played it, never liked it.

And favourite games... hmm I've never ever been a fan of the Silent Hill or Resident Evil series and such; I actually dislike those games. I've always been a lot more into car games. Driver 1 and 2 used to be some of my favourites; I loved that game. Still play it from now and then ( only #1, since I ruined #2 crying5lc.gif )

When it came to Sega Genesis, I enjoyed the Sonic series for the most part, although I never really managed to complete any. That game drove me nuts; I used to play it with my sis: she'd use Sonic and I'd use Tails. Awww, memories happy.gif

As for Nintendo 64, it was more like my sister's thing, I was way more into PSP. But I do remember almost completing Paper Mario and playing Super Smash Brothers and Mario Party 'til I dropped.

I FAIL at theme hospital, I just can't get the hang of that friggin game.

crying5lc.gif

I also had prince of persia on the master system, I quite liked that'un.
The Underbelly
Theme Hospital? I just invest alot in the beginning, that usually works out. But when there's a whole crisis, I loose it and people die. And I get rats. And alot of inflated heads.

When I was like 10, my father player Prince of Persia and he reached level 10 or 11, and that was a pretty big deal and all. But now it doesn't seem that far anymore. Especially with all the cheating, haha.

Anyone remember that fat dude in level 6 or what?
chickin'pickin'
I reckon I pretty much sucked at that game too. It was so hard. But there was a huge feeling of satisfaction if you made a particularly hard jump.
The Underbelly
Absolutely.

And a feeling of frustration when a jump right before that green door failed, so you had to do the whole level again.

What I also remember is being scared to jump through that mirror, don't know exactly why.
CarnageXB
I like the n64 but I like genesis alot more.

Gah, I want to play it now.

I also remember being amused by the fighting stances, for some odd reason I can't remember.
Hitman
SEGA GENESIS!

Amazing. I miss that so much! sad.gif
chickin'pickin'
That was the Mega Drive here, Streets of rage was a good game, Mate of mine had that.

PAC-MAN

Never actually owned an N64. sad.gif
Extraordinary_Girl
I've just remembered when I got the PSone, then the DualShock controller and later on, "Ape Escape" (the first game to require the use of DualShock). OH, how I loved that game, I spent hours and hours until I completed it and had caught every single monkey. It was great, and one of the few games for which I stood using that controller.

Damn, this thread brings memories back.
In fact, the entire forum does.
chickin'pickin'
Anyone remember Driver on the PS1? OH OH an what about Tekken 3? That game was disgustingly fantastic.
The Underbelly
I remember Driver yes. I also remember Driver 3, where you could step out of the car and it instantly became a bad rip-off of GTA.

Didn't play Tekken much, Mortal Kombat on the other hand...
Extraordinary_Girl
You could step out of the car in Driver 2 already.
There wasn't that much more to it than that, though, it was just the basic Driver with some add-ons and different cities to drive through.
BUT I loved getting out of my car and stealing others laugh.gif

(yes, I'm quoting myself to show what I said yesterday).

I ABSOLUTELY adored Driver.
I totally PWNT my cousin when comparing progress, and he's the boy laugh.gif
chickin'pickin'
Ah, shit sticks. I think I missed a couple of your posts actually. Anyhow, Driver was great, indeed...

I will quote this :

Loved Silent Hill LOVED it. It was so sick and twisted, and I am not afraid to say, that that game fucked up my dreams for a awhile. But it was so, how do I put it? Moreish...I just couldn't stay away from it, even if it did scare the living crap out of me. The whole idea of the world being changed and mimicking a young girls nightmare, Fascinating. Then they ruined it with that god-awful movie.

Until Resident Evil 4, the series was overrated crap.

Sonic was good on the mega drive, my father had one. I as shown in my first post, had a SNES. Such a superior catalogue of games, also it helps if you have a boner for Mario like I do. laugh.gif

Oh and I've never seen that family game thing before huh.gif

The Underbelly
Oh, I never had Driver 2 anyway.

Me and brother played F1-games a lot. He usually having the upperhand, to my sadness.

I beat him with footie games on the hand smile.gif
Mechanical Man
I'm an O.G. I started out on Quake 3 Arena, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Unreal Tournament. All on PC. O.G. RIGHT HERE!
FilmAdaptation
I've got, NES, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast(not sure if this counts), and Sega GameGear as far as retro goes.

I also had PS1, PS2, and Xbox, but those weren't retro. Sega systems were underrated, especially Dreamcast, that was the first system you had online connectivity with.
Nicolle
omgomg I had nintendo 64, sega and ps1!

Sega was so FTW wub.gif I miss little sonic and omg! Spyro for PS1!
Melly.
Yoshi's Island is the mother of all games.
Laura33
Jesus, the super nintendo and the first playstation. The hours spent arguing with my cousins over who's go it was and what game to play, almost brings a tear to my eye

When I was a little kid my dad brought one of these home

me and my brother loved that Atari, we played the games day in and day out.
I remember breakout, space invaders, dungeons and dragons, asteroids, hangman and some game where cowboys would jump out and you would have to shoot them quick.

since then I've had a few of the early handheld games that we bought when I was a kid and we went to Singapore, they were donkey kong and a mario one and a popeye one.
then I got a sega megadrive, and after that a dreamcast (which I have saved in its box on top of the wardrobe, because I loved it so much and was gutted when they stopped making games for it a few years ago)
Phoebe.
We were given a megadrive, my favourite games for that were Robocod and Michael Jackson's Moonwalker smile.gif
¿Whatsername?
Sega Genesis FTW! I had all of the Disney games, Sonic II, and Mortal Kombat (and others that were my dad's). I remember sitting around in my underpants playing on vacations as a five year old kid.
