So anyone here have a PS3?
I'm thinking about buying one but what I have been told the current 40GB versions don't play PS2 games atm. So for me that's a downside.
Discuss?

It certainly looks the part. But gaming shouldn't be about aesthetics. Unless the games produce something mindblowingly original and innovative (which will be tough, seeing as the control pads seem so limited now, due to the wii) then I don't see the point in buying one.

Look around for the slim model in a couple months. I bought the 80gb ps3 a couple months ago when the were phasing out the 80gb. the newer models cant play ps1 or ps2 games. I mostly use mine for a blu- ray player.

Yeah. Considering you're getting an expensive Video player, and a next gen. gaming system, the price is good. I love my PS3. I've been a loyal PlayStation user since the first one was introduced.

i only got the ps2 and psp. i cant afford a ps3 and i was playing 64 when psone came out.

yea sony lost guitar hero, they made a bad move by not making sure 360 and wii could get it

rofl X-box 360 is terrible, you have to buy your wireless adapter, you have t buy x-box live I think it's the biggest rip off. I'd buy a 360 if those issues were fixed.

Nah pretty sure you do not, since it should be the same as PS2 online free just you have to create an account with sony.

with wii i know you can get a wireless internet adapter and plug it in the back and you can go on the internet for free.
i was kinda pleased seeing as you can put a flashdrive with songs or dvds and play them on your wii you can get around the fact that the wii cannot play dvds

I thought the wireless was built in, My mates don't need an adapter I am rather sure...

it's just a little adapter for mine unless you have a computer in the same room the wireless may connect without an adapter.

i have 40 gb. my brother tried a ps2 game and it didnt work. but it does play all of my ps1 games. and i have a really cool game called team buddies.

I really want a PS3, but I seriously doubt I'd ever be able to afford one. I mostly want one because most of the games I've played on it seem really fun... Assassin's Creed, Lair, and Virtua Fighter, to name a few.

I'm pretty sure you're only able to purchase the 40gb model in all PAL encoded regions atm which you will not be able to play PS2 games on, whent hey release the 80GB version you will be able to.

My bad your right, well the 80 gig was taken off shelves for a couple months. Sony is making the new 80gig ps3.
