Hello. I want to know what thoughts you have about Green Days next tour. Just answer these three questions:

1. Do you think it will be a tour before the new record comes out?
2. how do you think the setlist for the promoting tour will be? Very strict like in the AI-era, or something else?
3. If Billie asked YOU to choose a song on one of their gigs, what song would it be?
Waiting Brat Named Android
shouldnt this be in the "On the Road" section!?

Will probably be pretty much the same as the last tour, just with the new songs

3. If Billie asked YOU to choose a song on one of their gigs, what song would it be?
Does this have to be a Green Day song? If yes, I'd say Desensitized. If no, I'd say London Calling by The Clash. Would love to hear the guys play that!
Jose Luis

2. Its time for something different, maybe one of those fan generated setlists voted fro each night. But it would always include the new songs.

3. I don't think they'd do a tour before the record comes out.
I don't know how the setlist will be. Time will tell.
I would want them to play either Worry Rock, or Haushinka from Nimrod.
MikeysMYHERO
i think they are gonna do the same thing MCR did on their black parade tour
Play the new album straight through and then get to their old songs
sidyovangelz
1) I would hope the album comes out b4 the tour...so im gonna say yes.
2) I don't like the way they did their set list for AI. So I hope they change it up and make it unpredictable...with a twist at the end. like a horror movie.
3) I Wanna Be On TV
TotalBasketCase13
1. Do you think it will be a tour before the new record comes out? No, it will probably be after.
2. how do you think the setlist for the promoting tour will be? Very strict like in the AI-era, or something else? Probably strict, but it will all depend on their new material I think.
3. If Billie asked YOU to choose a song on one of their gigs, what song would it be? Going To Pasalacqua, Having A Blast, and Church on Sunday.

1. I don't think they will tour extensively, but perhaps they will do what they did with AI and play a few preview shows...
2. I think (sadly) older songs that were barely played during the AI tour (i.e. 2000 Light Years Away) will be edited out completely except for maybe one or two shows (i.e. a Minnesota show, they might play 80 or 2000 LYA). I think they will stop playing Are We the Waiting/St. Jimmy, Wake Me Up and other random songs to make room for a few from the new album.
3. No One Knows, Haushinka, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield, or Minnesota Girl
Alex2
1. No idea
2. Hopefully they play at least one or two pre-dookie songs
3. Church on Sunday, or Worry Rock ... or Dry Ice

I thought there was coming a new world tour ? Hopefully they come to Belgium rolleyes.gif

They wouldn't play only 5 new songs though. I wouldn't actually want them to...
Jenn123
1. Nah.
2. Dunno. But I think it would be cool if they played a strict setlist, and at the end played one song they've never played live, like a different song every time.
3. God, where to begin. I would probably ask for Android, but others would be Sassafras Roots, One For The Razorbacks, and Paper Lanterns, but only if Billie plays that awesome solo he did on the '94 Tour. And basically any song they've never played live.

I think they'd play alot more from American Idiot. I can't see Billie wanting to give up St. Jimmy tongue.gif
Cool setlist though
I hope there's alot more variation in the next tour too
basketcase of suburbia
1. Do you think it will be a tour before the new record comes out?
Yes but only a few months before and mostly festivals

2. how do you think the setlist for the promoting tour will be? Very strict like in the AI-era, or something else?

From Dookie: Basketcase, Long View and When I come Around
From Nimrod: Hitchin a Ride, Good Riddance, king for a day
From Insomniac: Brain Stew
From American Idiot: American Idiot, Holiday, Jesus of Suburbia, Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Wake me up When September Ends
From Warning: Minority
Probablly they'll also perform either The Saints are Coming or Working Class Hero
New album: all the singles and a couple more songs. I'll say about 7 songs of the new album.
And maybe in some shows they'll add to the set: She, Jaded, Maria and St. Jimmy

3. If Billie asked YOU to choose a song on one of their gigs, what song would it be?
Misery, Westbound Sign, No One Knows, The Grouch
Just Some Guy
1. No
2. Depends on the album and fans reaction to it.
3. Until I see Paper Lanterns live, I cannot die happy.
Deadbeat Misery
1. Do you think it will be a tour before the new record comes out? No.
2. how do you think the setlist for the promoting tour will be? Very strict like in the AI-era, or something else? New album songs, AI songs, plus the very famous old ones. I don't think we'll be seeing King for a day much more.
3. If Billie asked YOU to choose a song on one of their gigs, what song would it be?
Anything from Kerplunk. I'm stuck between 80 and Android.
GuitarPlayer5
I will probably make the trip down to Minneapolis, MN to see them on their next tour.
I will probably make it into the mosh pit and backstage.

I have some saving up to do I guess.
JakeyBoy
1. Do you think it will be a tour before the new record comes out?
Nope.

2. how do you think the setlist for the promoting tour will be? Very strict like in the AI-era, or something else?
It will probably be pretty strict to American Idiot, with a few of "the old favourites" stuffed in there.

3. If Billie asked YOU to choose a song on one of their gigs, what song would it be?
Hmm. I dunno, really..
xIsabelx
1. No point
2. They will probably play the same songs, as usual.
3. Something from 1,039/SOSH, or Tight Wad Hill.

i like that
love_billie_joe
um yeah...i would be happy seeing billie joe sing anything... anything that he sings would be perfect. but if they played she, i would die happy. but i would also love for them to play anything from 1,039 sosh... though would they do that? i mean tre wasn't in the band when they made the 1,039 sosh cd?... oh and when i come around... they got to play old green day stuff or, in my opinion, they will lose their "true" fans... unsure.gif

that'd be a pretty rad set but normally they start up with near half of the new album in orderi love it how they do that

Also, I think...
they'll either, release a single then do a few dates here and there, then release the album and finish up doing a pretty good tour
or
they'll release the album and do a big massive tour straight after just like the AI tour

and on the set they should do church on sunday for once
Sole
I hope they do a massive tour like AI but I'd like a different setlist each show. If they do a different setlist then I'll probably go to shows in my state and the states around me. Tre should definitely do Chocolate Rain and All by myself. I also think at least do one song from each album before.
HowiRocks
Well, the last I heard, the new record was hopefully coming out next year. I'm sure they'll hit the road to support it like AI and the rest. i DO hope they really re-work the set. Lots of old songs, pre-Dookie. But mix it with up with a few songs from every album. I can't wait for that tour! Haven't seen them since '05. Looking forward to it.
GustavoLP.182
1. Do you think it will be a tour before the new record comes out?
No, i don't, maybe a pre-*new record name* tour about one month before the new record comes out

No

Dunno
3. If Billie asked YOU to choose a song on one of their gigs, what song would it be?
Walking Contradiction, Great Song
dookiehead
1. I think the tour will begin a month or so before the new album. I guess it worked out pretty well in '04 with Reading & Leeds just before the album release so perhaps they'll try for something like that again.
2. On the AI tour, the main reason for the setlists' strictness was the complexity of the light show/pyrotechnics/etc. So because no one's going to care about Green Day very much by the time of the new album's release (especially if the album is crap, which it probably will be), I'd say that they'll have less budget to do that stuff and so the setlist'll be slightly more flexible.
3. Words I Might Have Ate or Ballad Of Wilhelm Fink.
Sean.
1. no
2. i dunno but i hope they play somethin from the 1039 SOSH and Kerplunk days
3. Coming Clean
nimrod-41
It's really unlikely, but I think the most awesome setlist for the next tour would be:

01. New song
02. New song
03. American Idiot
04. Jesus Of Suburbia
05. New song
06. Are We The Waiting/St. Jimmy
07. Longview
08. Welcome To Paradise
09. Hitchin' A Ride
10. New song
11. Brain Stew/Jaded
12. Give Me Novacaine
13. She's A Rebel
14. Going To Pasalacqua
15. Knowledge
16. Basket Case
17. She
18. King For A Day/Shout
19. New song
20. Minority

Encore

21. Simpsons Theme
22. Holiday
23. New song
24. Cover song
25. Homecoming
26. Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)

I know, it's alot... But it would be awesome for stadium shows!
Then the older tracks for smaller shows. smile.gif

1. Do you think it will be a tour before the new record comes out? - Maybe just some festival gigs before the release
2. how do you think the setlist for the promoting tour will be? Very strict like in the AI-era, or something else? - I think it'd be pretty tight, if it's gonna be a world tour like the American Idiot one
3. If Billie asked YOU to choose a song on one of their gigs, what song would it be? - wouldn't want to miss Basket Case.. that was the highlight for me when I saw them. But also Going to Pasalacqua and Waiting
marie1986
1. I think once the new album comes out, they will start to tour....
2. ummm I would definately want them to play HITCHIN A RIDE...we all know why i would want that song lol definately JESUS OF Suburbia, that song has a lot of meaning to me, ummmm letterbomb/.whatshername...? maybe a few new songs and then basket case, longview, i would like to see 86 live though

1- I think the album will come first .. (it could be double!)
2- The set-list will be strict, i think. They should do like AI. But i prefer more pre-dookie and nimrod stuff ..
3- Right now, I would say Paper Lanterns, Dry Ice, Nice Guys Finish Last and Who Wrote Holden Caulfield
