I haven't heard about James being the drummer, or of a CD release date o_o

James said in an interview that their drummer quit, and he's drumming for them now.

If anyone cares, here's the article on them from AP. http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheyd...576.html#cutid1

nah, i dont think so.
they play a different type of music.. its the anti-MCR btw (as frank said x)
Pan.
There's a huge contrast between Leathermouth and My Chemical Romance:

My Chemical Romance are a punk rock/metal type of band; whereas, Leathermouth is a post-hardcore/screamo type of band.

Both bands are incredible in their own special way. I wouldn't really compare them.

I've heard people talking about them but I never really cared to go listen to it, but I think now since I'm not doing anything I'll give them a listen =]

Ok, ok... definitely not "metal." But you know.... some of their stuff (especially TBP) has a metal-ish feel to it (Ray's guitar playing).

I don't know how you would describe them. They're definitely not punk, haha.

I'd call them Rock.

It's not a sin to say the most basic genre.

Thank you.

I guess I'm not the only one that can't stand sub-genres.
jimmydiedtodayandsodidi
Now one of my favorite bands. Seriously. I can identify with the lyrics (bad words, hehe) and I hope I can go to the show in Sayreville.

And as for how you'd label it, I consider t hardcore, though the word's kind of pointless... But it does describe the heaviness of metal with the screaming, yet more punk influences.
shenanigans041
I dont care what mcr are considered I just listen haha.
Yeah L//M and MCR are completely uncomparable.
Frank just happends to be in both
slappyhours
So at these Reggie shows.... Are there more people there for Reggie or Leathermouth?

I'd hope Reggie, but never underestimate the MCR fangirls (who may or may not even like the music).

yeah, that's pretty sad
Vanessa
I'd go for both if they were coming here. Leathermouth pwns (not because of OMGZ FRANK IERO!1!!!1!) and Reggie is pretty awesome too. I'd love to see James acting like a freak.
slappyhours
Yeah, I'm worried about fangirls... I'm going tonight to see RATFE, I'm so excited, I just hope they don't ruin it! But it will be cool to see Frank Iero...
Pan.

I won't lie to you, seeing Leathermouth live was just as exciting as seeing My Chemical Romance live. It was an experience I'll never forget.

Seriously though, I thought I wasn't going to go at all. Things looked so bleak -- it was just 3 hours before the show; I still didn't have my ticket; and a certain someone refused to drive me to the venue (some of you know the whole story). But just when I was about to give up and spend the entire day/night sobbing uncontrollably in my room, I decided it was time to take some drastic measures.... I really wanted to see and (possibly) meet Frank, so I said to myself, "I'm taking a train to downtown. I'm gonna do it. Then, I'll buy my frickin ticket at the box office. I'm definitely NOT missing out on this." And I did it! So without further ado, my experience:

I got to the venue just in time to buy my ticket (NO LINE!). The show was 20 minutes away from starting, and I got myself a pretty awesome spot... almost near the barricade. I also met up with some of my lovely Chicagoan MCRmy friends! That had to be one of the highlights of my night, to be honest. They're just such fun and crazy people. xD

First to open was David Costa and his band. I saw them open for MCR earlier this year, and I'll be honest and say they're just not my "cup of tea." But what really caught my attention during the very end of DC's performance, was when Frank came out to scream with him! He looked just adorable... dressed in white.... and sporting a poorly-grown-almost-Mexican-looking 'stache.... as soon as we saw it, we knew we had to show our "'stache love" somehow... so someone got the idea of drawing a 'stache with a Sharpie on either our finger or face, haha.

So after waiting (and clowning around), Leathermouth came on stage! Oh. My. God. The whole band was dressed in white -- and Frank -- Frank, looked so cute (and chubby!). I'll be honest and say I wasn't too familiar with all of their songs ... same for the crowd. So that's when Frank said, "If you don't know the lyrics to the song, make them up," which made me laugh so hard...

Frank wasn't feeling so good, though. He somehow fucked up his wrist. He had a bandage wrapped around it, which can be seen in this crappy cell phone picture I took:

(will post eventually! xD)

I remember him saying he felt a little "insecure being on stage," too. Aw... we just felt like giving him a big hug.

Frank performed a really good song called I Killed the President of the United States. He said, "I don't know who is going to win the fucking election this year... so yeah...." And then I suddenly decide to yell out, "FRANK IERO FOR PRESIDENT!" Some people were like, "Yeah!!!!!" And then he turns around and shouts, "Shut up already!" and then he laughed.... absolutely adorable, haha.

He performed Fifth Period, Murder Was the Case They Gave me, and Body Snatches Forever (which, if I'm not mistaken, was the last song of LM's set [and Mr. Costa joined him xD]).

So after about 50 minutes of amazingness, Leathermouth left the stage, and it was time for the other people to perform. I didn't give a shit about them, so I decided to leave the floor early, and wait for Frank by the merch section/bathrooms..... I didn't see him around there though, only David Costa and his band. So I decided to walk near this staircase that led to the backstage and sit right in front of it.

20-30 minutes later, I was still sitting there and there was no sign of Frank. I wanted to leave so badly, since I was all alone there waiting. But then to my surprise, I see a cute little guy wearing a black hoodie, a white shirt, and white pants walk by near the stairs. He wasn't planning on coming down from what I noticed, but then he suddenly stops and notices me sitting there and this is what happened:

Frank: Hey... what are you doing there?
Me: Frank! Um.. waiting for you?
Frank: Aw, really? *he laughs then decides to go down the stairs*
Frank: I'm feeling kinda under the weather today, so I can't stay here for long....sorry.
Me: Aw... it's ok! I'm so sorry Frankie!
Frank: It's all good, hun. I hope you enjoyed the show.
Me: I did! You were amazing.
Frank: Thanks.... hey, how come no one else is down here to see me? That's a fucking shocker.
Me: I guess I'm the lucky one!
Frank: Yeah! *smiles*
Frank: Well sorry to cut this short, but I got to go.... I'm REALLY sorry!
Me: It's fine!! I really hope you get well soon, Frankie! I'm so worried about you!!
Frank: *smiles and quickly places his hand over my cheek*
Don't worry, hun. I'll be fine.
Me: ............
Frank: *heads back upstairs* Tell everyone they just missed Mr. Iero if they ask! *laughs*
Me: Will do! Bye!
Frank: Bye! *waves and smiles at me*

Oh, and he also noticed the drawn 'stache on my finger and he giggled a bit. =)

I left the venue with a huge smile on my face, memories, and crappy cell phone pics. It was amazing beyond belief and I'm so glad I got to meet Frankie again. <3

Oh, and I also heard Bob was there too! But I didn't get to see him. His hair is no longer hippie-ish now, by the way. xD
Cassie.

I don't get why everyone is only talking about Frank. I mean, Frank's awesome and all but he's not the only one in the band obviously. I want to hear about the whole band. Not just OMgzZ FrAnk IeR0!!1!1!. And I really hope people aren't going to the show just because of Frank or saying they like L//M just because Frank is in the band (even if they deny that).
greendaygoddess
I would feel bad going to a Leathermouth show tbh.
Don't get me wrong, I like the band but I completely suck with lyrics in screamo songs so I would feel bad not knowing the lyrics.
Although my favourite song is Murder Was the Case They Gave Me and Fifth Period to which I know some words....
FilmAdaptation
Bullshit deleted.

Don't start it up again.
Pan.
I caught some of Reggie's set, by the way.

I honestly wasn't impressed..... Warship was so much cooler.

Nerdy bros doing screamo? Fucking amazing.

I would've stayed for the entire show, but then I would've not met Frank or any of L//M's members. Plus, I had to catch my train back home ASAP.

So whoever thinks I went just for Frank is wrong.

Woot, leathermouth.
Meh, I like 'em when I'm angry but if we talk about Frankie as vocals, then Pencey Prep owns as lot more!

Still I like a few songs they have.

update biggrin.gif

Hello friends,

So yes its true, as of October 2008, little old Leathermouth has signed to Epitaph records. January 2009, we will be releasing a 10 song full length compact disc.(ha so bear with us just a bit longer.) I've been completely stressed out finishing the artwork before deadlines so I apologize if my update doesn't make alot of sense...but...I just wanted to say I am very excited to have this record released and even more excited to be working with one of my favorite labels, Epitaph. Damn it feels like its been a lifetime of waiting for this record to see the light of day.. but it really is a dream come true... Every step of this journey has been a blast, from the first practice, to touring with reggie, and now seeing the artwork come to life. I apologize to everyone that has been waiting along with us but fuck man, I've been busy ...and we really wanted to make sure everything was right and now...finally, I truly feel its coming out right.

So thank you again for sticking with us and trusting that one day something would eventually hit your stereo in its face. We hope its worth the wait.
