I still love The River. I personally think it's one of their best songs ever. I've been listening to them for about 5 years now, still love them.

back in 5th/6th grade when I started on good charlotte, my cd player would always run out of power if I tried to listen to a gc cd. I guess it was the player telling me "I DON'T THAT SHIT! BACK THE HELL AWAY FROM ME GOOD CHARLOTTE!"

i think that good charlottes albums got worse as time went on...

self-titled: really good
young and hopeless: almost as good
chronicles of life and death: pretty average
new album: i couldnt even listen to the whole album, i got fed up with it and had to listen to something better (new NIN album...)

s/t-as good as this band can possibly get (which is still kinda ripping off other bands)
tyath-pretty good. Not as many good songs as the last one.
tcolad-terrible. just terrible. they had to go the depressed route.

Out of the half dozen concerts I've been to in the last 8 months, Good Charlotte was superior to them all. It was the best concert I've been to.

I agree, i saw a live video of them on youtube, there were pretty bad, i could not even understand what Joel was saying.

YouTube videos are never of great quality. When I saw them live at the Galaxy Theater back in October I could understand everything Joel and Benji said. I still hold that concert as the best one I've been to. It was so amazing. I guess everyone has their own standards for a concert, but I really like Good Charlotte live.

they play their songs way too slow live and joel's voice sounds terrible. A friend of mine said that she had to see gc live once. Now I know she can handle child birth.

im going to see them tonight, i never got to see them when i loved them (3years ago!) so this is a chance to go now... and a cool band is supporting.. i seen beat union before.

nah, trust me, they don't. I wasn't that big a fan of them before I saw them live, but now I'm converted big time. I always respect bands a lot more when their live performances are fab.

i have that one DVD where they were live in concert in England i think and you know, they were okay but they're not great.
when they said "our next album, we're gonna grow our hair out!.....that was a joke" i was like

a) dvds just dont capture how good they are live or
b) they've improved vastly since then

Yeah, I have that DVD too. I still love them and all but I don't think they were that great live on there either. Maybe they have improved since then, but I've seen better live, even though i still love them.

yup, its m shadows. i was kinda hoping they'd take a7x for support at brixton (you know, so shadows could sing when they preformed the river) but I think they're probably too big a band to take on support these days.

But comparitively, "The River" isn't really that horrid of a song.

I was never a fan of Good Charlotte but I must say, they were pretty cool live! Really enjoyed it. I met the guys after the show and they were genuinely friendly and really took the time to sign autographs etc. Hopefully I can post a few pictures later

Lets just say, I wasn't a fan before and now I am! I thought they played a great mix of old/new songs and they had really good energy...they interacted witht he crowd a lot! I think being at the front made it better though You should go see them!

I like the first albums they made, but I'm not a huge fan of the third...the fourth album I'va only heard the river and keep your hands off my girl, love the first one and hate the last one...don't knoe why, it's just crap.
