Thought so.
jimmydiedtodayandsodidi
Love them! At first, I thought were only pretty good and I thought they'd suck live, like half the bands today, but they are AMAZING live and they put so much into it. I want to read the book, I don't knwo if it's out yet.
randomness
book? i haven't heard about any book ohmy.gif

no that's all of them smile.gif
woven_basketcase
a book? blink.gif
they're not THAT big.
jimmydiedtodayandsodidi
I read somewhere that they're writing a book about Adalia and the Madina Lake (the town). Oh, and I also read somewhere that they put out an EP before "From Them, Through Us, To You". I know there's an EP of a few acoustic songs with Nathan and Mateo, but I was just wondering if any of you guys heard of it.
SaintGreenDayFan
^ The Disappearance of Adalia? yeah, i heard of it.
jimmydiedtodayandsodidi
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITY_AOUNVcc...feature=related
See, there is a book. But it's not out yet.
randomness
i think i've seen that before, i just must have forgotten.

and the EP is just 4 songs that are on the album plus a song called escape from here and an instrumental song called pecadillos. which is less than a minute long. so escape from here is really the only new song off the EP. there's also a song called again and again which is a B side of a song (dunno which one) from the album, i think. and there's another song called we'll be okay, but i'm not sure where that's from. some vinyl i think. it's like impossible to find on the net, but i've got it. go to the ML forum.
jimmydiedtodayandsodidi
^ I still want to hear it though. I was thinking. We have every other kind of "whore" on here, so why not Madina Lake whores? Hehe, it could be...very fun. eyebrow.gif

Anyway, I'm singing "Here I Stand" for the talent show. I'm trying to get my town into them. Only Karina and I know who they are in the first place. And it's bugging me that Matthew has this awesome way of fingering his bass, but I don't know what he's doing to make it that way.

^thanks. good interview.

this is from this weeks kerrang about them on the kerrang tour:

QUOTE
madina lake are the most excitable human beings to ever walk the surface of planet earth. fact. they bound about like duracell bunnies, instantly conquering the multitude. they snap, crackle and pop till they drop, bassist matthew leone gushing sweat as he performs his spinning jumps, while his vocalist brother nathan's constant crowd invasions send belfast bananas. you won't find a more fun, energetic live band than this anywhere

duracell bunnies laugh.gif

randomness
yay biggrin.gif

they're so nice too.

have you just downloaded their album? i'll upload some songs you won't have later. i can't upload again and again though (thats' the name of the song) coz it's itunes protected but there's about 3 songs i can upload smile.gif
JimmyOfSuburbia
Yeah, I downloaded it the other night. I love it!
Thanks Kelly! smile.gif

For the future, an easy way to get rid of that iTunes protection is to burn the protected songs onto a disc, and then load them back onto your computer. Et voila! wink.gif
woven_basketcase
yeah, but then wouldn't the sound quality be less?
JimmyOfSuburbia
I'm not sure.. Depends on the quality you burn it at, I guess.

i <3 kelly.

my friend and i have been counting how many times matthew jumps off drumsets in videos during programming class. laugh.gif
he's quite the bouncy kid.
randomness
yeh, they're "duracell bunnies" laugh.gif what videos have you watched? i haven't seen many live videos. can't watch videos on my laptop anyway coz it overheats. but when i'm on the pc, on youtube, there doesn't seem to have been much live footage. good live footage.

this is the only song that wasn't locked, sorry =/ it's a good song though =]
JimmyOfSuburbia
laugh.gif i can tell! i'd love to see them live one day.
but the chances of them coming here are small.. ottawa never gets anyone. sad.gif lol
i mostly browse through youtube and google videos.

thanks so much kelly! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
crazychic
i like their songs i.e house of cards and here i stand and i guess they have a good live sound but they were soooo stuck up thinking that they were better than Coheed and thatCoheed were pricks that it completely ruined their set for me then they went on and played as if they were the headliners i have totally lost my respect for them
randomness
i very much doubt they thought they were better than C&C, they wouldn't have thought that. they were probably just pissed that C&C made such a fuss about a bit of confetti and then burst all of ML's balloons that they were gonna throw into the crowd, that took someone hours to blow up. then later someone to do with C&C punched Dave (who blew up the balloons i think. dunno what he is to ML, like a roadie or something). there's a video of it. and C&C treated ML badly apparently.
JimmyOfSuburbia
I've heard about this fight. What exactly happened?
Why would C&C burst their balloons? sad.gif

(baha.. sounds like such a first grade fight. tongue.gif)
randomness
i don't know why, that's what i wanted to know. i just know they were making a fuss about confetti, they didn't want there to be any on the stage.

lmao at this.

"we're in belfast, airland. it's our first time in airland" laugh.gif

JimmyOfSuburbia

for those of you that don't know, there's a whole story behind Madina Lake, written by Matthew. Madina Lake is the name of the town the story's set in, in the 1950's. it's basically a microcosm of society. it's interesting smile.gif

watch the 3 episodes, they'll tell you about it. you have to click proceed a few times on the 3rd one.

there's also a more elaborate version here, which will take you about 30/40 minutes to read. but you should read it anyway, because it's good. maybe print it out, that's what i did.
ChibiLauryn
I Love Madina Lake!! I've been listening to them for awhile now. I went to Projekt Revolution last year and actually ended up missing them cause we didn't go till later in the day (not my decision) and I was soooo mad.
randomness
here's a link to download the acoustic version of here i stand biggrin.gif
